iRU hides Tactio 515 behind the screen

The Russian company iRU has solved the problem of a perpetually cluttered desk by releasing a device that is practically invisible on an office desk. More precisely, it attaches to the back of the monitor. The Tactio 515 is a nettop for those who count every centimeter of workspace.

The novelty is a tiny yet powerful system unit designed for workdays. The engineers clearly thought about office workers who need to keep a dozen browser tabs open, a messenger for communicating with colleagues, and some corporate ERP system that often lags. The Tactio 515 promises to handle all of this without extra effort. Image: press service of iRU

On the outside, it’s just a small silver box weighing about 460 grams. The nettop's case is equipped with a VESA mount, which means it can be attached to the back of the monitor, and the only reminder of the computer's existence will be the cable leading to the outlet. An ideal option for open spaces, where the aesthetics of the workspace are as important as productivity, or for schools, where wires are better kept out of curious hands.

      What’s inside?

Inside this little box, you can install Intel Core 12th generation processors - either i3 or i5, depending on your choice. In the minimum configuration, the manufacturer installs 8 - 16 gigabytes of DDR5 RAM, but if you really want, you can expand it up to 64 GB. The basic 256 GB SSD can also be replaced with a larger one if desired.

The graphics in the Tactio 515 are integrated, but for running presentations, watching educational videos, or video calls, Intel UHD Graphics is more than sufficient. Yes, for video calls, the new Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 will come in handy to connect the headset without extra wires.

The little one has enough ports to not leave the user wanting. The device has four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, one USB Type-C 3.2 second generation port, HDMI 1.4 and DisplayPort 1.4 interfaces for connecting monitors, as well as a Gigabit Ethernet network port and a combined 3.5 mm audio jack. Additionally, there are M.2 expansion slots for installing drives and modules.

The computer will be sold in two versions: either with pre-installed Windows 11 Pro for those who don’t like complicating things, or completely without an operating system - for those who prefer savings and self-configuration. The warranty is standard - one year, but they promise that it can be extended to five years if desired.
