"Rikor" has started producing smartphones.

Not long ago, the Nizhny Novgorod company "Rikor," known for its servers and computer equipment for corporate giants, was stamping out "hardware" for government institutions. Suddenly, it unexpectedly announced its entry into the consumer smartphone market, presenting two models - RIKOR NEURO S3 and RIKOR NEURO S5.

Now users will have the opportunity to flaunt not only the new iPhone but also a Russian gadget that, as promised, is made with a significant margin of durability. The company claims that the new products are a potent mix of stylish design, powerful battery, and cameras that are not embarrassing for selfies.

      Balanced performance and wide capabilities

Creating "neurosmartphones" (the name NEURO hints at serious intellectual capabilities), Rikor's engineers called upon leading global design centers for help. Inside the new models is an octa-core UNISOC Tiger T8200 processor, manufactured using a 6nm process. It is so energy-efficient that it can run heavy games without draining the battery in an hour, like an old-fashioned button phone on an organizer.

The graphics are handled by an ARM Mali-G57 MC2 accelerator, and there is also a neural processing unit (NPU) inside. It allows your smartphone to instantly understand that you are photographing a cat, not a UFO, and to process voice commands faster than you can say them.

The younger model S3 has 6 GB of "fast" memory, while the S5 has 8 GB. But the main magic is that it can be virtually expanded to a total of 24 GB. The data storage is also impressive: 128 or 256 GB, plus a slot for a memory card up to 2 TB. Now there is definitely enough space to store family photo archives and series "just in case."

      Professional mobile photography

If you thought that quality photos are only made by iPhones and top Samsung models, Rikor is ready to dispute that. The new smartphones are equipped with a real quartet of cameras from leading manufacturers. The main sensor is 64 megapixels from OmniVision (in S3) and Samsung (in S5). It captures details even in pitch darkness, so even night photos won't look like they were taken in an underground bunker.

For lovers of wide spaces, there is an ultra-wide-angle module, and for photographing dandelion stamens - a macro lens. And for selfie enthusiasts, a front camera is installed: in S3, it is an 8-megapixel Sony sensor, while in S5, it is already a 16 MP Samsung sensor. Videos are recorded in 4K at a fairly decent rate of 30 frames per second.

      Autonomy and multimedia

The smartphones are equipped with a so-called AI battery, Smart Energy AI. It studies your habits (don't worry, only in terms of charging) and optimizes the process so that the phone can last up to four days without a socket. Isn't that a blessing for those who always forget their power bank at home? The screen delights with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The image in games doesn't blur, and your eyes get tired less. You can confidently scroll through the news feed, enjoying the smoothness of the moment.

The smartphones support eSIM. Now, changing operators can be done without prying out the native SIM card from the tray with a paperclip, which is undoubtedly very convenient.

For those who love quick access, a smart button is provided. You can assign anything the user desires to it, from turning on the flashlight to launching the camera or the RIKOR AI app. And the fingerprint scanner will keep your correspondence safe while you sleep.

In general, Rikor has decided that it is enough to work only for large businesses. Now they will produce devices for private users as well. Will they succeed in becoming a popular brand? Time will tell, but for now, it’s worth taking a look.
