As stated by Roku, the Roklue feature is accessible directly from the home screen without the need for downloads or setup. The inaugural version, titled “Roklue: Awards Season,” is set to launch on March 7 and is focused on memorable moments from Hollywood award history and celebrated films. Players can engage with trivia questions and immediately access related shows or movies.
Roklue enhances Roku’s existing trivia function by incorporating greater interactivity and direct links to available content on the platform. This initiative aligns with a broader tendency in streaming to gamify certain aspects of the experience, encouraging users to explore beyond their typical viewing habits.
Lisa Holme, Head of Content at Roku Media, commented on the feature, “At Roku, we’re developing unique experiences — interactive, fun streaming, utilizing the extensive content available on the platform. Roku mentions that the feature will undergo updates with new editions based on various themes. Following the award-centric edition, the company intends to introduce new themes connected to other significant cultural events throughout the year, providing viewers with more opportunities to test their pop culture expertise while discovering new content.
