Honor will unveil its latest models in the Honor 400 series on May 22 and has shared a teaser trailer on its official YouTube Channel. Although the YouTube Short is short, it reveals the complete design at the end and confirms that at least one of the devices will feature a 200-megapixel main camera. Honor has already introduced the Honor 400 Lite, which includes a 108MP main camera.
At the conclusion of the YouTube Short, two phones appear, likely the Honor 400 and Honor 400 Pro. While both exhibit a noticeable family resemblance to the 400 Lite, they do not include the "AI Camera Button" found on the side of the 400 Lite. It’s unexpected for Honor to omit this button from the 400 Series phones, especially when equipped with advanced cameras, considering the trend revived by the Apple iPhone 16.
The silver device shown in the teaser is presumably the Pro model, featuring three distinct cameras on a curvy body. The non-Pro 400 Series variant showcases two cameras along with a sensor or flash on the back, and has a flatter and squared-off chassis that resembles the Honor 400 Lite more closely. Honor is emphasizing its AI technology in both variants.
Details regarding the specifications of the upcoming Honor 400 Series phones are not yet known. However, a teaser shared on X suggests that at least one of the devices will include a telephoto camera, water resistance, and an advanced cooling system. The Honor 400 Lite has an IP64 dust and water resistance rating, offers 10x digital zoom, and is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra processor. It will be interesting to see if Honor maintains MediaTek processors across all 400 Series models, although rumors indicate that the non-Pro model may use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, while the 400 Pro could feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip.
Honor opted not to release the 300 Series phones outside of China, but has already launched the Honor 400 Lite in the U.K. and other regions. The launch event on May 22 is scheduled for London, implying that Honor aims to introduce the complete 400 Series range in the U.K. and likely Europe as well. Honor does not release its smartphones in the U.S. The company will compete with well-regarded devices such as the Google Pixel 9a, the Samsung Galaxy A56, the Nothing Phone 3a and 3a Pro, as well as the OnePlus 13R.
