With the discontinuation of the Google Chromecast line last year, those seeking a simple way to add streaming capabilities to their non-smart TVs have had to find other options. Fortunately, alternatives like the Onn 4K streaming device from Walmart have been available, offering a suitable replacement for the Chromecast.

A product listing on Walmart’s website has confirmed that a new version of the streaming device, the Onn 4K Plus, will be available soon. Discovered by 9to5Google, the listing indicates that it will retail for only $30, which is $20 less than the usual price of a 4K Chromecast, and similar to the Chromecast, it features a compact design and includes a remote.

This latest version will serve as an update to the previous Onn 4K Pro from last year. The Onn 4K Pro received our recommendation over the Google Chromecast due to its affordable price, essential functionalities, and useful features like the remote-finding capability, which is increasingly handy since remotes often go missing.

Now, with the Chromecast line no longer available, the Onn 4K Plus could become an even more attractive choice — ideal for those with older TVs lacking streaming capabilities but are not yet ready to invest in a smart TV.

Currently, there are limited details available about the Onn 4K Plus, but it will come with 16 GB of storage and 2 GB of RAM. According to Walmart, the product will feature an upgraded Google TV operating system and Google Assistant, with support for streaming services like YouTube, YouTube TV, Netflix, Disney+, Paramount+, and Prime Video. Additionally, it will support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, as well as offer voice functionality for the remote.

The exact release date of the device is still unknown; however, since the product listing has just been posted, the launch should be forthcoming. It may also become available in stores in addition to online, so if you're in need of a streaming device, you might want to visit your local Walmart to check for stock.

Urbanista has refreshed its Copenhagen earbuds with a new price point.

The Swedish lifestyle audio brand Urbanista has released updated versions of its Copenhagen wireless earbuds, introducing new features, but the standout aspect is the reduced price. The Copenhagen 2 will be priced at $49, which is $20 less than the original model. They will be available starting November 13 in three colors: black, lavender, or white.

While most brands have opted for closed, silicone-tipped earbud designs, the semi-open shape of the Copenhagen 2 (similar to Apple AirPods) remains very popular, as many users find it more comfortable and prefer the ambient awareness it allows.

Drop has reduced the price of its Grell OAE1 headphones.

Drop has significantly lowered the price of its Drop+Grell OAE1 headphones, designed in collaboration with renowned headphone designer Axel Grell. The latest iteration, referred to as the non-signature OAE1, has an official price of $299 (a $100 reduction from the Drop+Grell OAE1 Signature model), but will be available for just $249 starting November 13.

Some modifications have been made to the non-signature OAE1 to help lower the price, but none impact the sound quality. The new version maintains the same unique driver orientation (positioned in front of and away from the ears), which Drop claims allows the sound field to use the ear's natural structure to direct sound into the ear canal. Consequently, the result is a spacious soundstage with remarkably natural sound quality.
