NYT Strands for today: clues, spangram, and solutions for Tuesday, April 29.

Strands is a newly launched daily puzzle from the New York Times. This puzzle offers a more challenging version of the traditional word search, requiring sharp observation to solve. Much like Wordle, Connections, and the Mini Crossword, Strands can occasionally be quite tough. There's no shame in seeking assistance once in a while. If you find yourself stuck and need the answers for today’s Strands puzzle, refer to the solved puzzle below.

      How to play Strands

In every Strands puzzle, your objective is to locate the “theme words” discreetly placed in the letter grid. You can manipulate the letters by dragging or tapping to form words; double-tap the last letter to confirm your choice. When you uncover a correct word, the letters will be highlighted in blue and won't be selectable anymore.

If you discover a word that's not part of the theme, it can still be beneficial! For every three non-theme words you find that are a minimum of four letters long, you will receive a hint — one of the letters from a theme word will be revealed, and you'll need to unscramble it.

Every letter in the grid contributes to the theme words, and no letter overlaps. Each letter will only be used once.

Each puzzle includes one “spangram,” a unique theme word (or words) that relates to the puzzle's theme and connects two opposite edges of the board. Once you identify the spangram, it will be highlighted in yellow.

The aim should be to finish the puzzle promptly without relying on too many hints.

GOG revives a classic RPG over two decades after its debut

More than 20 years following its original release, the cult-classic JRPG Breath of Fire IV has been reintroduced to PCs as part of the GOG Preservation Program. The game first came out on PC in 2000 (2003 for Europe and Japan), yet time has not been kind to what many viewed as a somewhat mediocre port initially.

Breath of Fire IV was developed with 240p screens in mind. Even with advanced upscaling methods, the visuals do not appear quite right, and early players have noted that even GOG's updated version requires some adjustments to eliminate blurriness. Nonetheless, the new edition offers numerous bug fixes and improvements that enhance playability on modern systems (including the removal of DRM).
