Adrianne Palicki engaged in discussions with Marvel regarding the role of Mockingbird in the MCU.
Just over ten years ago, actress Adrianne Palicki became part of the cast of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in season 2, where she portrayed Agent Bobbi Morse, also known as Mockingbird. In the Marvel comic universe, Mockingbird was an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. who went on to marry Hawkeye and join the Avengers. Although Palicki's portrayal of the character didn't take that path, she recently disclosed that she had discussions with Marvel years ago about playing Mockingbird in the MCU films.
“When I agreed to join Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the conversation was about whether I would be in the films or have a spinoff,” Palicki shared during a recent interview with The Direct. She became a regular on the series through the end of its second season and into the third. Nick Blood was introduced as Bobbi’s ex-husband, Lance Hunter. Both Palicki and Blood were written out of the series in season 3 to develop the spinoff, Marvel’s Most Wanted, which ABC ultimately chose not to pursue.
“We filmed a spinoff that turned out really well, but I think it was around the time when ABC was cancelling all of their Marvel shows,” Palicki recalled. “Agent Carter was taken off the air and ours didn’t get picked up. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was on the verge of syndication, so it continued.”
Palicki had previously portrayed Wonder Woman in a 2011 TV pilot that wasn’t ordered to series. Although that Wonder Woman episode eventually surfaced online, Palicki doesn't have high hopes for Marvel’s Most Wanted ever being released.
“That was a huge disappointment because I love playing Bobbi Morse,” she reflected. “I have a deep affection for Mockingbird, and the unfortunate part is that the show is really good… It’s interesting the contrast between DC and Marvel, right? You can view the Wonder Woman pilot I did, but I doubt they'll ever show the Mockingbird spinoff… I even had to go into the producer’s office and sign something just to watch it.”
After leaving Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Palicki took on a leading role in The Orville and recently appeared in ABC's Doctor Odyssey.

This spring, three streaming series have emerged as significant topics of conversation across social media platforms like X and TikTok, as well as in the dwindling number of office water coolers around the world. The first two — Shōgun and Baby Reindeer — were somewhat unexpected; after all, how often do historical dramas set in feudal Japan or shows tackling male sexual trauma top Nielsen viewing charts?
However, the third surprise hit of spring 2024 is X-Men '97, a revival of a cherished 1990s animated series that received mixed to negative reviews before its premiere on March 20. What could it possibly offer other than yet another easy nostalgia grab for Gen-X viewers? The recently axed reboot of Willow, along with the continuous stream of lackluster live-action adaptations of modern Disney animated classics like Aladdin and The Little Mermaid, set a low expectation bar for audiences.

During the Super Bowl, the first trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine notably lacked Wolverine. The reveal of Hugh Jackman's iconic comic book hero was saved for later, and that moment has now arrived. Marvel Studios has released the second trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine, which soon shows Wolverine face-to-face with Deadpool, who is clearly not pleased to see him.
