      What do the recent Galaxy S27 Edge leaks actually indicate?

      Initially, leaker @kro_roe (via X) asserted that the Galaxy S27 Edge might come with a 5.8-inch display, a body thinner than 4.5mm (likely at its thinnest point), and still maintain a fairly standard 4,300mAh battery.

      Considering that the original Edge was larger and bulkier while having a smaller battery, this seems to represent a positive progression. However, it may seem implausible since Samsung would need to achieve a significant engineering accomplishment to fit that battery into a device less than 5mm thick.

      Moreover, the S25 Edge was equipped with a 6.7-inch screen. Samsung typically adheres to a consistent flagship design for several years, making a form factor change in just the second generation feel unlikely.

      It’s the less sensational leak that appears more credible.

      Shortly after, @SPYGO19726 (via X) provided contrasting numbers: a 6.8-inch display and a thickness of 5.4mm. On paper, these specifications align more closely with the S25 Edge and fit nicely within the design lineage of an immediate successor.

      Both the 6.8-inch display and the 5.4mm thickness would represent slight enhancements over the existing specs. This assertion sounds more plausible to me. The S25 Edge is already more streamlined than many devices available. Instead, it seems Samsung could be concentrating on boosting battery capacity.

      Recently, Samsung integrated a silicon-carbon battery in the Galaxy Z Fold 8. This technology enables manufacturers to fit higher battery capacities into the same confined space. However, since @SPYGO19726’s claim doesn’t specify a particular battery capacity, we should remain cautiously optimistic.

      What both leaks share is that they discuss the ‘S27’ Edge. This suggests that the Edge may finally make a return with the expected Galaxy S27 series in January or February 2027. It could even become the fifth smartphone in the series.
