TCL has introduced two new 11-inch budget tablets: the TAB A1 and TAB A1 NXTPAPER. These models share most of their core hardware specifications, so the decision largely hinges on the display finish and if you want a stylus included. Starting at $189.99, they represent one of the more economical options in TCL's tablet range currently.

TCL TAB A1, the basic budget option

The standard TAB A1 is priced at $190 and features an 11-inch, 2.1K display with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. It operates on a MediaTek Helio G100 chip coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, along with an 8,000mAh battery supporting 20W charging. The tablet includes quad stereo speakers, a 5MP front-facing camera, and an 8MP rear camera, all housed in a slim 0.24-inch body.

This tablet supports microSD expansion up to 2TB and is available in a Space Blue finish. The Helio G100 is essentially a minor update of a processor released in 2022, so heavy multitasking or graphic-intensive applications may not run smoothly.

TCL TAB A1 NXTPAPER, designed for reading and taking notes

The NXTPAPER variant is priced at $250 and shares the same processor, RAM, storage, and battery as the standard model. Its distinguishing feature is TCL's paper-like display coating, which minimizes glare during prolonged reading sessions, plus it comes with a T-Pen 2 stylus and Flipcase included in the package.

It is offered in an Aerolite Grey finish and has the same camera configuration as its counterpart. If you need quick assistance while taking notes or browsing, the TAB A1 NXTPAPER incorporates Google Gemini and other AI features. Both tablets are currently available on TCL’s website and Amazon.
