Sony has just released this model. It’s budget-friendly for OLEDs and features four HDMI ports.

      OLED TVs have become significantly more affordable over time, yet purchasing one from a high-end brand can still lead to steep prices. Sony's latest Bravia aims to ease that transition. The company has introduced the 2026 Bravia 6, a 48-inch (with more sizes available) OLED TV priced at $1,299.99. While this is still a considerable sum for a television, it's relatively reasonable by Sony OLED standards, especially considering its features.

      At its core, this TV offers a 4K OLED panel providing the deep blacks and strong contrast that are characteristic of the technology. Sony includes Triluminos Pro for an expanded color range, and each panel is factory calibrated. However, the Bravia 6 becomes even more appealing when you delve into its additional features.

      Four HDMI ports make this an attractive choice for gamers.

      If your entertainment setup is already crowded with consoles and other gadgets, Sony has some good news: it includes four HDMI ports that support HDMI 2.1 gaming features. This allows for gameplay in supported titles at up to 4K and 120fps, while Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) keeps the TV in sync with your console's frame rate for smooth visuals. There’s also Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), which automatically switches the TV to a low-latency setting during gaming sessions.

      This combination is particularly beneficial if you have multiple devices vying for space under your TV. While Sony specifically supports the PlayStation 5, the connectivity options also provide ample room for an Xbox, Nintendo console, sound system, or another HDMI device without the hassle of frequently swapping cables. Additionally, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support enhance the viewing experience, and DTS is included for a more immersive audio experience.

      Gemini is integrated directly into the TV.

      Sony has also addressed the smart features in its new Google TV. The Bravia 6 comes equipped with Gemini, allowing users to interact with the TV using voice commands instead of navigating through various streaming apps to find something to watch. You can request movie and TV suggestions based on your preferences, ask follow-up questions, or simply use your voice to open apps, play music, and control compatible smart home devices.

      Streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, YouTube, Apple TV, and Crunchyroll are accessible through Google TV, and Google Cast enables you to stream content from a smartphone or tablet to the TV. Additionally, Sony has incorporated a light sensor that automatically adjusts the picture based on your room's lighting, alongside a narrow-bezel design and an adjustable stand that can be elevated to accommodate a soundbar. Although priced at $1,299.99, the 48-inch Bravia 6 is not exactly a budget option. However, if you've been looking for a smaller Sony OLED without venturing into significantly higher price ranges, this model may be worth considering.
