Roborock's latest robot vacuum is able to detach its own mops prior to vacuuming carpets.

Roborock's latest robot vacuum is able to detach its own mops prior to vacuuming carpets.

The Qrevo 2 Pro has the ability to clean its own mops, empty its dustbin, and prevent hair from getting tangled in the brushes.

Robot vacuums are capable of autonomously cleaning floors, yet they still require a significant amount of maintenance. Hair gathers on brushes, dustbins must be emptied, and mops need cleaning and drying between uses.

Roborock's latest Qrevo 2 Pro is designed to minimize some of this upkeep. The robot vacuum features a suction power of 25,000Pa, automatic mop removal, anti-tangle brushes, and a multifunction dock that can empty its dustbin, refill its water tank, and wash the mops. The Qrevo 2 Pro will be available in the U.S. starting August 28, priced at $549.99 during a promotional launch, with a regular MSRP of $799.99.

The mop can be left behind on carpets

A notable feature is Auto Mop Removal. When the Qrevo 2 Pro identifies a carpet that needs cleaning, it can leave the mop at the dock and retrieve it afterward. It also includes specific carpet modes that enhance suction power or have the robot cover the same area again using a crisscross pattern.

      Roborock

The robot is equipped with a DuoDivide main brush and an anti-tangle side brush. Roborock claims this design has achieved a 0% hair-tangling rate and a 100% hair-removal rate in its controlled tests, although actual performance may vary based on the environment. For edges, a reversible side brush adjusts its direction when entering a corner, and the FlexiArm mop can extend to as close as 1.85mm from a wall.

The dock manages most maintenance tasks

The supplied dock cleans the mop pads, dries them with warm air, automatically empties the dustbin for up to 65 days, and refills the water tank. Roborock states that the internal heater can reach 75 degrees Celsius during mop washing, while the drying air can reach 45 degrees Celsius.

      Roborock

Roborock has been exploring unconventional ideas, such as a mechanical arm on the Saros Z70 and a prototype capable of climbing and cleaning stairs. While the Qrevo 2 Pro adopts a more traditional approach, its automatic mop removal and low-maintenance dock are still impressive.

HIZERO believes that your vacuum cleaner might be overdoing it

HIZERO is reimagining cleaning hard surfaces by replacing traditional suction with a bionic polymer roller designed to manage wet and dry debris.

When entering many homes after a busy day, the floor tells a complex story that a vacuum cleaner may not effectively address. There could be crumbs under the dining table, some water next to the sink, hair near the sofa, and traces of dirt tracked in on shoes. None of these messes are particularly hard to clean individually, but the issue arises from the fact that they don’t appear one type at a time.

HIZERO has crafted its entire cleaning philosophy around this challenging reality. Rather than determining the amount of suction needed to handle different messes on a hard surface, the company has questioned whether suction should even be part of the solution. Its patented No Suction Technology employs a proprietary bionic polymer roller to directly collect dry debris and liquid from surfaces, followed by sorting and managing the collected materials.

Google Home finally improves its awkward voice commands, but most users still can’t access them

Many of the most requested updates remain in the early access program.

Google has rolled out a genuinely beneficial upgrade for Google Home, focusing on voice command functionality, but there's a caveat hidden in the details. The latest update allows users to request specific light colors based on Kelvin values (or color temperature) and streamlines years of cumbersome broadcast commands. However, the majority of features won't function unless users have opted into the early access program.
