YouTube Premium, Netflix, Hulu, and Paramount+ have recently upped their subscription prices, and this increase is not unexpected, as Apple continues to heavily invest in high-quality original productions featuring top Hollywood talent. Notable TV successes include Ted Lasso, The Studio, Widow’s Bay, Severance, Pluribus, and Shrinking, while films like F1 are solidifying Apple’s reputation within Hollywood.

This well-received British comedy-drama boasts a rare 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Apple TV hosts a growing collection of original shows and films, including several classics. On the same day the streaming service announced its fee increase, it was reported that Apple has secured global streaming rights to "Small Prophets," which premiered on BBC iPlayer and BBC TV earlier this year. Interestingly, Small Prophets currently holds a 100% freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a notable achievement in entertainment. Sony has introduced a new affordable OLED TV model with four HDMI ports.
OLED TVs have become much more affordable in recent years, though purchasing one from a premium brand can still be costly. Sony's latest offering, the 2026 Bravia 6, is a 48-inch (with additional sizes available) OLED TV that retails for $1,299.99. While this is still a significant amount for a television, it is relatively accessible for a Sony OLED, particularly considering its features. The TV has a 4K OLED panel, delivering the exceptional deep blacks and contrast expected from this technology. Sony also incorporates Triluminos Pro for a broader color spectrum, and each panel undergoes individual factory calibration. Additionally, the Bravia 6 presents more interesting features that go beyond just picture quality.
