Android Headlines, in collaboration with notable leaker OnLeaks, has released what they claim are official renders of the Galaxy S27, offering an early glimpse at Samsung's next compact flagship from nearly every angle. Unlike the Ultra, which seems to be taking a distinctly new design direction, the standard S27 appears very familiar.

      At a quick glance, it could easily be confused with the Galaxy S26. The device seems to maintain Samsung’s sleek, flat-sided design, featuring three individual camera rings aligned vertically on the back. This means the camera bump remains present, suggesting that the phone will likely wobble slightly when placed on a desk. The size of the device isn't changing much either; the Galaxy S27 is said to measure approximately 149.75 x 71.88 x 7.25mm, compared to the Galaxy S26’s dimensions of 149.6 x 71.7 x 7.2mm. Thus, any difference is minimal and unlikely to be noticeable in hand. The 6.3-inch display is expected to remain, keeping the Galaxy S27 as Samsung's relatively compact flagship.

      Samsung might be reserving the more significant changes for the internal components

      The familiar design doesn't imply that the Galaxy S27 will lack exciting upgrades. In fact, some intriguing rumored changes may be found beneath the surface. One of the most significant changes could revolve around the camera. Reports indicate that Samsung is testing a new Sony sensor for the main camera of the Galaxy S27, potentially replacing the existing ISOCELL sensor. This change would be noteworthy, as the basic Galaxy S model has not undergone a major upgrade in main-camera hardware for several years.

      Battery life could see a notable enhancement as well. Samsung has begun experimenting with silicon-carbon battery technology in its foldable devices, and rumors hint that the Galaxy S27 could take advantage of this as well. The phone is reportedly set to feature a battery around 4,900mAh, a considerable increase that does not change the device's size much compared to its predecessor.
