Samsung might be considering two different sizes for the Galaxy S27 Ultra next year.

Samsung may be poised for a significant change with the Galaxy S27 Ultra next year, as a new leak indicates that the company might introduce two different sizes for its upcoming Ultra flagship, potentially making the Galaxy S27 lineup much larger than usual.

Tipster Sonny Dickson has revealed two CAD models that suggest varying sizes for the Galaxy S27 Ultra devices. Ice Universe has also provided input on this leak, yet it remains unclear whether both models are part of the Ultra series or if the smaller one is the anticipated Galaxy S27 Pro. Should Samsung actually be planning two sizes for the Ultra, there is a compelling reason for this move.

Samsung could finally provide a response to both iPhone Pro models.

Apple offers consumers the option between the iPhone 17 Pro and the larger iPhone 17 Pro Max, both of which are integral to its high-end Pro lineup. Conversely, Samsung has taken a different route, with the Ultra standing out as its largest and priciest Galaxy S model.

Introducing two sizes of the Galaxy S27 Ultra could alter that dynamic. A smaller Ultra would serve as a more straightforward competitor to the up-and-coming iPhone 18 Pro, while the larger variant could maintain its rivalry with the iPhone 18 Pro Max. However, this remains speculative, based on leaked CAD models, and the smaller device could simply be the Galaxy S27 Pro, which has also been mentioned in previous rumors.

If both devices do belong to the Ultra category, Samsung could find itself with an unusually crowded flagship lineup in 2027. Assuming the company retains the standard Galaxy S27 and S27+ while launching the rumored S27 Pro, introducing two Ultra sizes would result in a total of five different phones.

Samsung is already rumored to be planning significant changes for the Ultra next year. A recent leak revealed a design featuring a much broader camera section, while earlier reports hinted that the redesign could facilitate the inclusion of built-in Qi2 magnets for MagSafe-like accessories.

While numerous questions remain regarding the two CAD models, if both materialize into retail products, Samsung could be gearing up for its most extensive Galaxy S lineup to date.
