      Logan has made an impression on Sony’s special-edition PS5

      Limited-edition consoles typically feature only a fresh paint job and a new logo. However, Sony is paying special attention to one of Marvel's most cherished characters. The company has announced its Marvel’s Wolverine limited-edition PS5 collection, which includes a Battle Yellow PS5 Digital Edition adorned with massive claw marks that seem to slice through its exterior, revealing what’s beneath.

      A corresponding DualSense controller sports the same yellow-and-black design, complete with scratches and slashes inspired by Logan’s claws. The entire collection will be available on September 15, coinciding with the release of Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Wolverine, with preorders beginning on August 19.

      The PS5 Digital Edition Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle is priced at $649.99 and comes with the special-edition console, the matching DualSense controller, and a digital version of Marvel’s Wolverine. A standalone Battle Yellow DualSense will be available for $84.99.

      Sony notes that the design is inspired by Wolverine’s Battle Reborn suit from Insomniac’s game. Current PS5 owners need not buy a new console to participate, as Battle Yellow covers will be available for both the PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro for $74.99. These covers fit both PS5 models with and without disc drives. Additionally, there’s an alternate design for PS5 Pro owners that may be even better suited for Wolverine.

      Sony’s Adamantium Limited Edition replaces the yellow finish with a metallic design reminiscent of the fictional metal bonded to Wolverine’s skeleton and claws. It maintains the extensive slash marks on the console covers, along with a matching metallic DualSense controller.

      The Adamantium PS5 Pro covers are priced at $74.99, while the associated DualSense is $84.99. Sony is not offering an Adamantium PS5 Pro console bundle, so owners will have to purchase the covers separately. All Wolverine-themed hardware will be produced in limited quantities, although Sony has not disclosed how many units will be available. Preorders will start on August 19 at 7 am PT / 10 am ET in the US through PlayStation Direct and select retailers, ahead of the September 15 launch.

A Reddit user, ssuberlex, in a now-deleted post, claimed to have paid $200 on OfferUp for a mystery Xbox controller resembling an unreleased Microsoft prototype. Photos display a small built-in screen along with hardware that looks similar to the Xbox Elite Series 3 design previously revealed through Brazilian regulatory documents. The controller is also marked as not for sale and has temporary regulatory information, lending more credibility to the prototype claim.

Although the platform is not exclusive to the Steam Deck, more devices from MSI, Ayaneo, and Konkr are now receiving support for Valve's latest SteamOS beta.

      As noted by Notebookcheck, Valve’s new SteamOS 3.8.25 beta enhances support for multiple third-party handhelds. While this doesn’t grant full SteamOS certification to every device, the update brings a number of models closer to functioning correctly with the company's gaming-centric operating system.
