Beeper's latest update integrates conversations with the same contact from various apps into a single thread.

During an average workday, I message a select group of people through three or four different applications. Generally, I use Teams or Slack for work-related communication, WhatsApp for sharing locations or personal matters, and Instagram for browsing Reels (mostly memes). On calmer days, this is manageable; however, during hectic periods, keeping track of multiple conversations has genuinely confused me more than once.

Beeper has just rolled out an update that addresses this issue. The universal chat app is now able to consolidate conversations with the same individual from different apps into one chat thread. While this isn't the only update the platform has introduced, it is arguably the most significant.

So how does the merging of chats function?

Beeper already allows you to aggregate every messaging app into one inbox. However, this update takes it a step further by combining separate conversations with the same contact into a unified chat thread. Now, all your work-related discussions, personal messages, and memes from three or four different apps are consolidated into one chat. Essentially, this update allows you to better engage with the platform and concentrate more on the conversation at hand.

In addition, Beeper has launched Labels. These allow you to create designated spaces for categories like work, close friends, or family, and you can choose to exclude those chats from your main inbox based on your current focus or activity.

A revamped, fully customizable Spacebar is also available on both Android and iOS, allowing you to feature your most-used spaces prominently.

What other features are included in this update?

Beeper has also added the ability to create and participate in polls directly within supported apps. Its desktop application now supports Spanish, French, Japanese, and Portuguese.

Five features that were previously exclusive to Plus users—such as Incognito Mode, scheduled sending, voice note transcription, chat reminders, and custom labels—are now accessible for all users on a trial basis.

Android users benefit from enhanced visual customization options, including colors, bubble styles, and animated wallpapers that can be applied globally or to specific conversations. Meanwhile, the iPhone app now supports CarPlay, enabling users to safely check and respond to messages while driving.
