Bose's forthcoming QuietComfort headphones have surfaced online in six stunning colors.

      The Bose QuietComfort 2 is expected to feature TrueSpatial audio and lossless playback via USB-C.

      Bose's standard QuietComfort headphones seem poised for their first significant update in nearly three years, with a substantial collection of official-looking images recently unveiled. HotEUDeals, in partnership with @onLeaks, has released 54 high-definition press renders and six marketing slides for the QuietComfort (2nd Gen).

      The photos showcase the headphones from various perspectives and in six color choices: Black and White Smoke, which return from the previous version, alongside new shades such as Rosewood Mauve, DewDrop Mint, Eucalyptus Green, and Hazelnut Taupe. Details about their specifications, pricing, and anticipated launch were initially outlined by Dealabs a few weeks ago. The new promotional materials confirm various aspects of that earlier report, including the updated construction and TrueSpatial audio.

      Bose has refined the design.

      The headphones maintain the recognizable folding style, but the surfaces around the earcups and headband have been redesigned. The outer panels now appear flatter and less segmented, while the ear cushions feature a softer oval shape. Additionally, Bose has incorporated more synthetic leather throughout the wider padded headband and cushions.

      Physical controls remain unchanged, with the right earcup containing separate buttons for playback and power or Bluetooth pairing. The earcups still rotate flat for convenience during storage. A contrasting fabric layer can now be found behind the earpads, featuring blue mesh in the black version and lime-green mesh in the white version.

      The standard model is becoming more akin to the Ultra.

      A recent Dealabs leak indicated that the headphones would support lossless audio through USB-C, TrueSpatial audio, and new Immersion and Cinema modes for listening. The newly released marketing slides confirm the inclusion of TrueSpatial Tech, which Bose claims provides a fuller and wider audio experience.

      The slides also mention a feature termed “QuietControl noise cancellation.” Bose previously utilized the QuietControl terminology for its QuietControl 30 earbuds in 2016, which allowed users to adjust active noise cancellation (ANC) across 12 levels. This might represent an updated version of the technology, though the promotional materials do not elaborate on its operation.

      Additional anticipated features of these headphones include lossless playback via USB-C and the Immersion and Cinema listening modes, with the latter aimed at improving dialogue clarity. The headphones are reported to offer 24 hours of battery life with ANC active, though enabling spatial audio is expected to decrease that to 18 hours.

      Regarding pricing and release, these headphones are anticipated to launch on August 13 for $359 in the United States, which is just $10 above the cost of the 2023 model. Bose might announce the headphones as early as tomorrow, as the Dealabs report suggested that preorders could start on August 7.
