      Huawei’s laptop, which transforms into an 18-inch OLED screen, appeared quite futuristic at its initial launch. However, the 2026 update enhances its features further. The company has focused on boosting performance and improving display durability, adding another dimension to user interaction.

      The updated Huawei MateBook Fold Ultimate Design unfolds into an 18-inch, 3296 x 2472 dual-layer OLED display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits, alongside a 92% screen-to-body ratio. When folded, it provides a more compact 13-inch, 3:2 screen on each side. Despite the large display, the device weighs only 1.16kg without its removable keyboard and is 7.3mm thick when open, widening to 14.9mm when closed.

      HarmonyOS 6.1 offers foldable-specific multitasking, cross-device clipboard sharing, integration with phones and tablets, offline meeting transcription, and an AI system capable of identifying face-swapping during supported video calls. The updated MateBook Fold has a starting price of an impressive 24,999 yuan in China (approximately $3,700), which is 1,000 yuan higher than the original model's launch price. It is available in Streaming Gold, Sky White, and Phantom Black, though Huawei has yet to reveal international pricing or availability.
