The ROG Gjallar features Dolby Atmos in a small design, but details about its US launch are still not disclosed.

Asus has introduced the ROG Gjallar gaming soundbar, featuring Dolby Atmos and a wireless subwoofer designed for your desktop setup.

Asus initially announced the ROG Gjallar in early July 2026 as the inaugural speaker system in the ROG lineup. However, details regarding pricing and availability were not disclosed at that time. This has since changed.

So, what does the ROG Gjallar include?

The gaming soundbar has now launched in China at a price of CNY 3,699, approximately $548.

Beneath the soundbar's metallic mesh grille are four 50mm full-range drivers and two 27mm high-fidelity tweeters. The soundbar employs angled up-firing channels, allowing sound to be directed upwards and reflect off your monitor or the walls behind it.

The system consists of the main soundbar paired with a 6.5-inch, 65W wireless subwoofer, providing a 2.1.2-channel surround sound setup with Dolby Atmos compatibility. While the soundbar manages the high and mid frequencies, the subwoofer handles the low-end sound.

Asus asserts that this setup creates a truly immersive 3D soundstage, rather than just amplified audio. Additionally, I appreciate how Asus has prioritized a compact design; measuring 607 × 92 × 82 mm, the bar can fit under your monitor or adjust behind or in front of it.

What additional features come with it, and when will it be available globally?

The desktop speaker system comes with an all-in-one control hub, providing easy access to EQ settings and playback controls without navigating through menus. While this feature is practical, I consider it the most exciting element of an otherwise standard device. It also includes customizable Asus Aura RGB lighting, offering 16.8 million colors and four preset effects.

A built-in AEC microphone is available for calls, alongside versatile wired and wireless connectivity options, and an integrated USB hub. In my opinion, this is a valuable addition, especially if your workspace is cluttered with cables.

Since Asus has released the Gjallar in China and created a dedicated page on its international site, I anticipate a broader launch may be forthcoming. However, a confirmed global release date has yet to be announced.

In other news, MSI has unveiled a 4K 120Hz OLED monitor utilizing inkjet technology, potentially making high-end screens more affordable. The first 27-inch 4K 120Hz IJP OLED monitor has been introduced by MSI in collaboration with TCL CSOT.

The future of OLED monitors has seemingly advanced with MSI and TCL CSOT presenting the world’s first 27-inch 4K 120Hz desktop monitor employing inkjet-printed OLED technology. This new manufacturing technique, previously restricted to prototypes and specialized displays, is now becoming more accessible to general consumers.

Dubbed the MSI Pro Max OLED 271UPJW12, the monitor features a TCL CSOT panel created by directly printing organic light-emitting materials onto the display. This method reduces material waste compared to traditional OLED manufacturing and may lead to lower production costs and improved scalability.

In additional updates, MSI has launched a white 16-inch gaming laptop with a 12GB RTX 5070, complete with a range of matching accessories.

MSI has globally released the Crosshair A16 HX MLG Edition, a refined version of one of its upper mid-range gaming laptops featuring a striking white-and-red design along with a comprehensive set of complementary accessories. The acronym "MLG" stands for Mo-Loong-Gi, translating to "Dragon Princess," which refers to an original character created by MSI, distinct from Major League Gaming.

Furthermore, a recent Lenovo leak has provided a clearer look at Google’s post-Chromebook project.

Lenovo's upcoming Googlebook 15 appears poised to compete with premium Windows devices, following 15 years of Chromebooks solidifying Google's status as a credible laptop platform. The leaked Googlebook 15 suggests that the company aims for this next series of Android-powered devices to stand alongside high-end Windows models, avoiding previous limitations.

Digital Citizen has obtained what it claims to be the complete set of press images for the unannounced laptop, showcasing its design, keyboard, ports, and offering the clearest glimpse yet of Google's new desktop interface. Lenovo has not yet officially revealed the device, but a formal announcement may come at IFA in September.
