Samsung has announced the upcoming release of the Galaxy Tab S12 and S26 FE, but has cautioned that prices may increase.

Samsung has announced two additional Galaxy devices set to launch later this year, although increasing component costs may affect their pricing.

Despite the latest foldable devices not yet being available for purchase, Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Tab S12 and Galaxy S26 FE will debut this year. During the Q2 2026 earnings call, the company cautioned that escalating component costs could impact pricing strategies.

Samsung's product lineup for the future is starting to be outlined. Daniel Araujo, the vice president and head of strategic planning for the Mobile Experience division at Samsung, mentioned the Galaxy S26 FE when discussing the company's strategy for the Galaxy S26 series. He noted that there will be a focus on sustaining the flagship series' momentum through marketing and the release of the S26 FE, while also enhancing upselling in the mid to high-end segments by integrating core AI experiences into the A series.

Araujo also confirmed the Galaxy Tab S12 is part of Samsung's offerings for the latter half of 2026. He mentioned it alongside the latest foldables and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, both unveiled during the recent Unpacked event this month.

While further specifics about these devices were not disclosed by Araujo, recent leaks indicate that the Galaxy S26 FE might boast a more premium redesign compared to previous Fan Edition models. Additionally, a different report regarding the Tab S12 Ultra suggests it might include MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chip and up to 12GB of RAM.

Increase in costs could impact future pricing.

Samsung's announcement of the Galaxy Tab S12 and Galaxy S26 FE was accompanied by a warning regarding the escalating expenses associated with mobile device manufacturing. Araujo pointed out that the high demand for AI servers is causing a shortage of mobile memory, thereby increasing component prices.

He remarked, “We already observed this in Q2 with a rise in memory prices from quarter to quarter, which has strained our profitability.” Samsung anticipates these cost pressures will persist through the second half of the year.

While the company has yet to confirm whether the Galaxy Tab S12 or Galaxy S26 FE will be launched at elevated prices, recent releases indicate that Samsung is already passing some of its increased costs onto consumers, which is likely to apply to upcoming products as well.

In related news, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold has surfaced in seemingly official images, and its design has failed to impress.

Google's upcoming foldable appears too similar to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Previous CAD renders had already set low expectations for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, and the latest promotional materials shared by Evan Blass through the Leakmail newsletter suggest minimal changes, likely limited to a new color scheme and slight design modifications that would be difficult for most to notice without careful observation. The phone bears a disappointing resemblance to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, keeping the same dimensions, rounded corners, and distinctive camera island. I have never favored the way Google layers what seem to be two smaller Pixel camera visors on top of one another; it feels clumsy rather than seamless.

Additionally, Samsung has issued a concerning forecast on pricing for mobile and PC devices.

The memory shortage could worsen in 2027 and continue through 2028.

In April, Samsung warned that the memory shortage might deepen in 2027. Three months later, the company's outlook has become more alarming for consumers looking to purchase new phones, laptops, gaming PCs, or other memory-intensive devices. During its Q2 2026 earnings call, Samsung indicated that demand is still significantly outpacing supply and that orders unable to be fulfilled this year are likely to extend into next year. The company now predicts that the memory shortage will last until 2028, extending its prior warning by an additional year.
