Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

      Rumors that Samsung is preparing an "ultra-version" of its foldable smartphone have been circulating for a long time. And now they have finally become a reality. The company officially introduced the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra — one of the most ambitious devices in the lineup. It is thinner, lighter, features a new titanium frame, improved cameras, larger displays, and expanded artificial intelligence capabilities.

      Thinner and lighter

      Foldable smartphone manufacturers are competing to create the thinnest device, and Samsung clearly does not want to fall behind. When unfolded, the thickness of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is only 4.1 millimeters — a record for the entire Galaxy Z Fold series. The weight is also impressive: 214 grams, making it one of the lightest book-style foldables from the brand.

      The dimensions when unfolded are 143.2 x 158.4 x 4.1 mm, and when folded — 72.8 x 158.4 x 8.9 mm. With such miniaturization, engineers had to pay special attention to reliability.

      New display design

      To maintain strength under constant bending, Samsung applied Flex Titanium technology. This is not just a titanium frame, but an entire screen architecture: under the OLED panel is an ultra-thin titanium alloy, and at the back is a titanium support plate. This design provides a flatter surface and resistance to multiple folds while maintaining flexibility.

      Large and bright screens

      The internal display has grown to 8 inches diagonally. This is a QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X with an adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz. The external screen is 6.5 inches with the same refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. Both displays have an anti-glare coating, and peak brightness reaches 3000 nits, making it noticeably easier to read information in direct sunlight.

      Camera without compromises

      One of the main complaints about previous Galaxy Z Fold models was regarding the cameras — they were considered not advanced enough compared to the flagship Galaxy S series. In the Ultra version, Samsung has addressed this shortcoming. The main module has a resolution of 200 megapixels (with an f/1.7 aperture and optically quality 2x zoom). The ultra-wide camera is 50 MP (f/2.2), and the telephoto lens is 10 MP with 3x optical zoom (f/2.4). The front cameras, both on the internal and external screens, have 10 MP each for selfies and video calls.

      Samsung claims that the updated ProVisual Engine provides higher quality photos, and the Nightography Video technology improves video quality in low light. The device supports 8K recording and introduces support for the Cine LUT APV codec. This allows content creators to preview cinematic color correction in Pro Video mode before recording begins. Professional video tools have also been expanded: built-in LUT presets and editing options tailored for bloggers are available.

      Artificial intelligence

      Galaxy AI has received new features tailored for the large screen of the Z Fold 8 Ultra. The main novelty is Now Nudge. This is a voice assistant that independently analyzes messages, notifications, and actions without your intervention to offer contextual suggestions. For example, it can create a calendar event directly from a message, save a sent location, open a schedule, or draft an email with one touch. Now Nudge can expand in Split View mode, allowing you to chat on one half of the screen while simultaneously interacting with AI suggestions on the other.

      Additionally, Ambient Nudge and Notification Nudge were shown — they also proactively suggest useful actions without requiring you to manually summon the assistant.

      Performance and autonomy

      Inside, it features the same flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor as in the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The battery capacity has significantly increased compared to the Z Fold 7: now it is 5000 mAh. It supports wired charging at 45W and wireless charging at 20W. According to Samsung, the device can play video for up to 27 hours, and in half an hour, it can recharge to 67 percent.

      The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will be available in three memory and storage options, allowing everyone to choose a configuration that suits their needs. The new device is clearly aimed at those looking for maximum performance in a foldable form factor without compromising on camera, display, and battery life.
