      Following the much-anticipated launch of its Steam Machine gaming system, Valve has introduced a significant update for Steam that addresses two long-requested features: gifting and wishlists. Let’s explore the new changes.

      How has gifting improved?

      The highlight of the update is the simplified process for gifting games. Previously, guest checkout was limited to gift cards and hardware, but now it applies to every game on Steam. If someone shares their wishlist with you, you can purchase a gift without needing to create an account.

      Want to keep it a secret? You can now send both games and gift cards directly to an email address without knowing the recipient's Steam username. Remember that unclaimed gifts will be refunded after 30 days, and the recipient must reside in your country.

      Cross-region gifting has also seen essential improvements. Previously, purchasing for a friend in a more expensive region required manually checking local gift card prices. Now, Steam automatically manages the conversion at checkout, provided your friend is already on your friends list.

      What updates are there for managing your wishlist?

      Steam has finally rolled out custom categories for wishlists, enabling users to sort and filter their items. You can quickly filter by category with a single click, add games to your preferred categories directly from the store page, and even set notifications for specific categories.

      Valve states that searching has become quicker too, with the addition of autocomplete for faster results. Steam now signals when a wishlisted game has a demo available, and hovering over a game’s capsule reveals a brief microtrailer.

      Sharing has also improved. You can create a link to your entire wishlist or a specific filtered category, allowing friends to gift directly from that link without needing a Steam account. With the enhanced wishlist features and more straightforward gifting, purchasing and organizing games is now significantly easier.

The Legion C700 will be just 14.99mm thick at its slimmest point and will weigh around 556 grams, or roughly 1.25 pounds. In contrast, Lenovo’s Legion Go S measures 22.6mm in thickness and weighs approximately 730 grams, while the ASUS ROG Ally X is 24.7mm thick and weighs 678 grams. This reduction in size should make the C700 more comfortable to hold for extended periods and easier to transport. However, this added portability may come at the expense of cloud gaming capabilities.
