You can now connect your favorite applications to AI Mode in Google Search to accomplish tasks.
AI Mode is now compatible with Instacart, Canva, and YouTube Music within Search.
Google is enhancing AI Mode in Search by allowing users to connect third-party applications. Beginning this week in the U.S., you can securely link some of your preferred apps directly to AI Mode, enabling Search to perform tasks for you rather than just providing answers.
This update builds on a similar function Google previously introduced in the Gemini app, now extending it to Search. The initial launch includes three partners: Instacart, Canva, and YouTube Music, with more integrations expected in the future.
The rollout starts today in the U.S., and it is anticipated to significantly streamline your daily activities. More app partners and integrations will be introduced soon. For further information, see here: https://t.co/P8uoolKSZR— Robby Stein (@rmstein) July 16, 2026
Which applications can you currently link to AI Mode?
The first set of integrations focuses on everyday tasks that typically start with a Google search. For example, if you're planning a backyard barbecue and use AI Mode to organize your grocery list, connecting Instacart will allow all your ingredients to go directly into your cart, minimizing the effort needed before checkout rather than requiring an additional shopping trip.
Need a flyer or invitation designed but don’t want to access Canva yourself? Just ask AI Mode, and it will provide ready-to-use template options. If you require the ideal playlist to match the mood of your event, AI Mode can create one utilizing YouTube Music, save it to your library, and start playing it even before your guests arrive.
Why is this update significant?
This isn’t just a minor adjustment; it represents a substantial shift in how Google Search functions. Rather than providing a list of links and leaving you to complete the task, Google Search can now directly interface with the apps you already use.
With this update, AI Mode will operate less like a traditional search bar and more like a personal assistant that discreetly handles your errands in the background. Google states that this is merely the beginning, with additional app partners anticipated to join soon.

In recent months, Google has worked on making Gemini sound more natural, expressive, and conversational. Now, it seems the company is preparing to give users much greater control over the AI's tone and style.
According to code analyzed by Android Authority's APK Insights, the latest beta version of the Google app suggests that Gemini may soon enable users to customize its voice according to four distinct parameters: Energy, Formality, Warmth, and Speed.
