Messi or Ronaldo? Caviar transformed football's greatest rivalry into a luxurious 24-karat decision.
Football's greatest debate has now shifted to a new contentious arena: Android versus iPhone. The rivalry intensifies with the introduction of Ronaldo and Messi into the conversation. Caviar, the luxury device manufacturer, has launched its Legends collection, featuring Lionel Messi with a tailored Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, while Cristiano Ronaldo is showcased with the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Both limited-edition designs include handcrafted cloisonné enamel and 24-karat gold plating, starting at $18,382 for Messi’s device and $15,974 for Ronaldo’s iPhone.

The Messi edition showcases Samsung’s upcoming foldable in the white and sky-blue hues of Argentina. His portrait dominates the rear panel, bordered by gold-plated accents, the number 10, and Argentine national symbols. Even the accompanying Caviar key features a 24-karat gold plating.

The Ronaldo edition highlights Portugal's red and green colors, with his portrait, the number 7, and the national crest set against sharp geometric patterns. Its frame and key design elements are also adorned with 24-karat gold plating. Buyers can select either the iPhone 17 Pro or Pro Max, with storage options ranging from 256GB to 2TB.
Caviar will only produce 19 units of each design. The company offers options for personalized engravings, modified design details, logos, and custom packaging, and each phone comes with a one-year warranty from Caviar. Shipping is expected to take up to one week.
Wait… Messi is using an unreleased Samsung device.
There’s an intriguing detail: Samsung has not yet unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra that forms the basis of Messi’s edition. The next Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled for July 22, prompting Caviar to prepare for orders before Samsung officially launches the device.

This also renders the Messi model the more expensive choice, with a starting price of $18,382, which is over $2,400 more than Ronaldo’s base iPhone. Purchasing both would total at least $34,356, not counting storage upgrades or personalized modifications.
Caviar has a history of creating extravagant electronics, such as an $18,200 gold-coated Huawei Mate XT, a $40,000 Vision Pro modification, and an iPhone case featuring a genuine Tyrannosaurus rex tooth fragment.

Google’s upcoming Gemini upgrade may not launch as quickly as anticipated.
Even Google’s AI requires additional time to finalize its updates. Google played a pivotal role in initiating the modern AI race, but maintaining its lead has proven to be significantly more challenging. A recent Bloomberg report reveals that the company has fallen months behind its internal timeline for the release of Gemini 3.5 Pro, its next flagship AI model, as engineers continue to enhance one of its principal weaknesses: coding. The delay signifies a larger issue for Google, where extensive engineering teams, numerous product divisions, and stricter AI safety regulations are hindering the company’s response to competitors that seem able to move at a much quicker pace.
Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro Max may feature a camera that opens and closes like an actual lens for improved portrait photos.
A leaked factory document has potentially revealed the iPhone 18 Pro Max’s most significant camera enhancement. The diagnostic log reportedly associated with the upcoming device contains calibration data for a variable-aperture main camera, according to Notebookcheck. This document was allegedly discovered among files taken from Apple supplier Tata Electronics and subsequently released by the World Leaks ransomware group. Apple has not confirmed the authenticity of the information or commented on the report.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: What we know about Samsung’s next flagship foldable.
While it will showcase enhancements across various aspects, the memory crisis may also affect Samsung’s Fold 8 Ultra. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will not reinvent the foldable phone concept; instead, it appears to be a direct successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, retaining the same tall, slender design and book-like proportions for its intended audience. If you’ve previously used a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and found its dimensions appealing, the Fold 8 Ultra could be the perfect choice. It features a redesigned inner display, a significantly larger battery, rapid charging capabilities, and the new Flex Titanium technology aimed at reducing the crease issue that has plagued Samsung's foldables for years.
