1Password allows Claude to access your accounts without giving away the keys.

Claude can now log in for you while keeping your password hidden, although trusting it after logging in is a separate matter.

1Password is providing Claude access to your online accounts without requiring your passwords as part of the exchange. The new 1Password for Claude integration can auto-fill login details while ensuring that the credentials remain concealed from Anthropic’s AI agent.

Currently available on Mac, this feature activates when Claude visits a sign-in page during a task. Claude will request a saved login, and you can either approve or deny it. If approved, 1Password will send the credentials through a separate encrypted channel, ensuring that passwords and one-time codes do not enter Claude’s context or Anthropic’s systems.

How does 1Password keep Claude out?

Claude identifies the website and seeks access, but it only receives basic information about the approved login and whether the attempt was successful. The 1Password browser extension decrypts and inputs the password while Claude temporarily pauses reading the page.

      Anthropic

Agentic Mode activates whenever Claude takes control of a browser tab. It removes 1Password’s standard autofill interface and restricts the agent to vault items permitted for that specific session. If the submission fails, the extension erases the credentials before Claude resumes control. There won't be a partially filled form for a curious AI to examine.

      Where does that protection end?

These safeguards pertain to how credentials are authorized and transmitted. Once Claude successfully logs in, it can function within the account as a verified user. What occurs next depends on Claude’s controls and the permissions granted by that website.

Keeping a password away from the model eliminates one apparent security vulnerability. However, it doesn’t render every action after logging in risk-free. You must still evaluate the task and what Claude could see or modify within that account. A secure login addresses the credential issue, but not the trust issue.

      Who can access it now?

1Password for Claude is available to individual, family, and business subscribers using a Mac. It requires version 8.12.28 or later of the 1Password desktop app and browser extension, as well as Claude’s desktop and browser extensions. Business administrators need to enable agentic autofill before employees can utilize it.

The initial release supports usernames, passwords, and one-time codes stored as login items. Passkeys and social sign-in options like Sign in with Google are not yet available. Start with a clearly defined task on a low-risk account before allowing Claude access to anything that could become expensive, public, or difficult to reverse.

I discovered five mechanical keyboards I would gladly recommend for Back-to-School.

The ideal mechanical keyboard enhances every assignment, game, and study session. Shopping for a mechanical keyboard differs from purchasing a laptop. Unlike flashy specifications or benchmark figures, the right keyboard is something that brings satisfaction daily, whether you’re taking notes in class, writing essays, coding late at night, or relaxing with a few games after lectures. After examining numerous options, I repeatedly narrowed it down to these five keyboards. They range from budget-friendly beginner models to high-end keyboards and esports-focused gaming options. Most importantly, they are keyboards I genuinely recommend for the Back-to-School season.

HP fined millions for acting like a cartel concerning ink and PCs.

HP was found to have manipulated bids for ink and computers, resulting in a nearly $15 million fine. If you've ever bought printer ink, you understand the excessively high price of something that seems quite basic. However, HP's latest issue runs much deeper. India's Competition Commission has imposed a fine of 1.42 billion rupees (about $15 million) on HP India and 21 of its resellers after discovering they rigged bids for government contracts pertaining to personal computers, toner, cartridges, and other printer supplies. The fines are related to tenders placed through the Government e-Marketplace between 2017 and 2020. HP allegedly determined who could participate in the bidding.
