You can now instruct Waze to stop interrupting your playlist, and I’m surprised it took this long.
Fewer interruptions during your music. More intelligent routes based on your driving habits. AI that determines your destination through dialogue.
Waze has just released five updates simultaneously, and if you’ve ever experienced the app announcing a voice prompt right when your favorite song kicks in, one of these updates is bound to make your day (and leave you questioning the wait).
In my view, the Less Chatty mode is the feature that will generate the most buzz, and the irony is not lost on me. When activated, it reduces both the frequency and duration of voice prompts, allowing you to concentrate on the music.
So, what are the new features in Waze today?
Safety alerts for turns, lane changes, and hazards will still come through, but with less interruption. This feature is now being rolled out globally on Android and iOS.
In addition, Waze is introducing personalized navigation, which adjusts route recommendations based on your driving tendencies. If you usually favor highways over regular streets, Waze will recognize that instead of waiting for you to constantly adjust its suggestions, and will recommend highways as an option. This feature is also available globally now.
On the Gemini front, Conversational Reporting has expanded. You can now use it to report map updates beyond just traffic incidents, meaning you can say “the road is closed here,” and it will alert map editors for verification.
Is motorcycle mode the most underrated feature of all?
Destination search also receives a Gemini enhancement. You can now ask for things like “find me the nearest gas station with the lowest prices” and navigate directly from the results. However, this feature is currently in beta.
Lastly, the Motorcycle mode now uses AI routing to consider roads specific to two-wheelers and related restrictions. It also identifies hazards such as potholes, speed bumps, raised crosswalks, and narrow bridges.
For the moment, this feature is available in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, and the Philippines, with additional countries confirmed for rollout soon.

The Pixel 11 may finally replace Samsung’s modem for improved battery life and connectivity.
A modem switch could revolutionize the Pixel 11 experience. If you've ever noticed your Pixel's signal strength drop inexplicably in a location where other phones functioned properly, you’re already aware that Google has a modem issue. A recent FCC filing indicates that the company might be taking action to resolve this (via Android Central).
A recent leak about the Pixel 11 reveals colors, specifications, and an unexpected accessory ahead of its launch.
Leaked images suggest that Midnight, Fuchsia, and Moss will be the color options for the Pixel 11. With the official launch of the Pixel 11 just a month away, a new leak has provided a wealth of information. A set of placeholder listings that briefly appeared on Amazon seems to showcase the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold in various colors, along with essential specs and a new accessory expected to debut with the phones. Initially reported by 9to5Google, these listings are believed to be drafts that went live prematurely.
OnePlus is set to cease its operations in the US shortly, according to reports.
Inventory is dwindling, and once it’s gone, OnePlus stock will not be restocked. In recent months, multiple reports have surfaced claiming that OnePlus plans to shut down its operations in the US and exit the European market as well. OnePlus has repeatedly denied these claims, stating that rumors concerning retail closures and executive changes are merely part of normal operations rather than indications of a potential shutdown in these important markets. However, WinFuture is reporting that the company intends to formally announce its exit from the European and US markets this week. "According to our reliable sources, OnePlus and its parent company, Oppo, plan to announce significant strategic changes this week. What may seem like marketing hype is actually the exit from key markets and the end of OnePlus as we’ve known it," the outlet asserts. The report adds that remaining OnePlus inventory is being sold off, and once it runs out, there will be no restocking. Most of the stock across OnePlus’s European stores has already been sold out.
