AMD is discreetly developing a frame generation mode that surpasses Nvidia in its own territory.
AMD's upcoming frame generation technology may allow your GPU to produce an additional seven frames at no extra cost.
AMD has been suggesting the introduction of Multi-Frame Generation for its Radeon graphics cards for some time, and it appears that the company is making significant progress. Initial support was discreetly integrated into the ADLX FidelityFX SDK back in April with the FSR Redstone update, enabling users to select a frame generation ratio that optimizes performance and image quality.
Since then, AMD has released multiple major driver updates, including FSR 4.1.1. A user on the Chiphell forums discovered unannounced options within the Adrenalin 26.6.2 WHQL drivers by using a tool called RadeonTuner. This tool offers a more streamlined and user-friendly interface compared to the Adrenalin software and can reveal features hidden within the driver, which are not accessible in the official application.
What did the driver uncover?
Utilizing RadeonTuner on a Radeon RX 9070 XT, the user identified four newly added toggles in the FSR panel. These include an FSR Multi Frame Generation Override and a ratio that reaches up to 8x, in addition to overrides for FSR Ray Regeneration Denoiser and FSR Neural Radiance Caching.
The standout feature here is the 8x ratio. Nvidia currently caps at 6x, which equates to five generated frames for every real frame, while AMD's upper limit could increase that to seven. Presently, AMD only provides standard frame generation with a single generated frame, marking a significant advancement.
Will it enhance gameplay experience?
While additional generated frames suggest smoother motion theoretically, AMD will need to improve frame pacing and latency management to ensure a satisfying experience. The override options could hold even greater importance for users.
If AMD permits the forcing of Ray Regeneration and Neural Radiance Caching in games that lack official support for these features—currently available only in select titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Crimson Desert—these functionalities could become much more broadly applicable. Such a change could rejuvenate the feeling of your existing GPU.

I wouldn't have previously recommended this Nintendo Switch 2 accessory, but a recent deal has changed my perspective.
Purchasing a Nintendo Switch 2 can be quite costly, especially following Nintendo's recent price adjustments in the U.S. This makes it even more exciting to see one of the console's accessories offered at a surprisingly large discount. If you had overlooked the official Nintendo Switch 2 Camera due to its high price, now may be the ideal moment to reconsider. GameStop has reduced the accessory's price to just $10, a significant decrease from its usual $55 retail price. This amounts to an 82% discount, making it one of the best deals for the Switch 2 in some time. To put it in context, the camera is now cheaper than many Switch 2 carrying cases or screen protectors. At this price point, it's much more feasible to take a risk on an accessory you may have passed on at launch.

Well… at least God of War Laufey will be released in physical format.
Santa Monica Studio has quietly confirmed that the upcoming game will not be limited to digital release.
Last week, Sony stirred up the gaming community by declaring that all new PlayStation titles released from January 2028 onward would be available only in digital format, effectively ending the era of physical discs for future launches. Simultaneously, the company revealed plans to close the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita digital stores by July 2027, heightening fears that digital storefronts and their associated games do not endure indefinitely. This announcement understandably prompted a strong reaction from collectors and long-time PlayStation enthusiasts. Amid this situation, Santa Monica Studio provided some reassuring news: God of War Laufey will be offered on a physical disc. While it may be just one sentence, it carries significant weight.

Samsung is introducing a new line of OBLYX OLED panels, which should soon appear in gaming laptops.
Samsung Display has launched OBLYX, its inaugural brand dedicated to OLED technology for gaming laptops, as part of its strategy to enhance its presence in one of the fastest-growing segments of the PC market. This announcement was made at Bilibili World 2026 (BW2026) in Shanghai, marking Samsung Display's debut at China's largest gaming and anime event. Rather than presenting new display technology, Samsung aims to establish a recognizable identity for its gaming-oriented OLED panels, similar to how processors or graphics cards are branded. This initiative also suggests the company's ambitions in China, where demand for gaming laptops featuring OLED displays is rapidly increasing, according to a report by Digital Today.
