The battery enhancement for the iPhone 18 Pro Max now seems nearly certain.
A new certification listing indicates larger battery capacities for the iPhone 18 Pro Max
Apple is anticipated to unveil three new iPhones this autumn, including the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the speculated foldable iPhone Ultra. Recently, the iPhone 18 Pro Max was rumored to receive a significant battery upgrade, with one leak suggesting a 5,235mAh battery for the physical SIM variant and a 5,425mAh battery for the eSIM-only model.
Now, the 3C certification database from China (via Digital Chat Station) appears to display the actual battery capacities for both the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Notably, the Pro Max figures listed are even higher than what the previous leak indicated.
The Pro Max battery seems significantly larger now
The 3C listing indicates that the iPhone 18 Pro Max will have a noticeably larger battery compared to last year's version. The physical SIM variant is reported to come with a 5,391mAh battery, while the eSIM-only model is expected to have a capacity of 5,567mAh.

These figures surpass the previously reported numbers of 5,235mAh and 5,425mAh. This would represent a considerable increase over the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which reportedly features a 4,823mAh battery in SIM models and a 5,088mAh cell in eSIM-only configurations.
The smaller Pro shows minimal change
The iPhone 18 Pro appears to have less significant enhancements. The SIM version is indicated to have a 4,056mAh battery, while the eSIM-only version is said to feature a 4,288mAh cell. Compared to the iPhone 17 Pro, these increments are minimal.

Apple typically does not disclose raw battery capacities in its official specifications, so final verification will likely come from teardowns post-launch. Nevertheless, a listing in the 3C database is more reliable than an average social media leak.
If these figures are accurate, the iPhone 18 Pro Max could showcase one of the most noticeable battery upgrades in recent years. This extra capacity may also be necessary as Apple integrates more on-device AI features with iOS 27. Regarding AI, recent reports suggest that the standard iPhone 18 may miss out on two significant Siri AI features introduced with iOS 27 due to hardware constraints.
America’s 250th anniversary time capsule contains an iPhone 17 Pro Max
Your iPhone may become a museum artifact sooner than you think
The United States has sealed a considerable time capsule to commemorate its 250th anniversary, including various artifacts representing contemporary America, notably an iPhone 17 Pro Max. This stainless steel capsule, weighing around 900 pounds (approximately 400kg), was buried in Philadelphia as part of the country’s semiquincentennial festivities. It is set to remain sealed for the next 250 years, with plans for its unveiling in 2276 during America's 500th anniversary celebrations.
Apple’s foldable iPhone could launch this fall, but availability might be limited
Apple’s foldable iPhone may face a launch shortage similar to the iPhone X scenario this fall.
A new analysis by industry expert Ming-Chi Kuo indicates that the anticipated iPhone Ultra (the foldable iPhone) could be announced alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. However, preorders and sales may happen at a later date due to expected restrictions in early production. Kuo notes that Apple might manufacture approximately 7 million to 8 million foldable iPhones in the latter half of 2026. The challenge lies in timing; only 0.5 million to 1 million units are expected to be ready in the third quarter, coinciding with Apple's typical preparations for its September iPhone launch. In contrast, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are projected to have around 20 million to 22 million units ready during the same timeframe.
