Google Vids offers free AI avatars, extended video generation, and multilingual voiceovers

If you’re looking to create videos from presentations without recording yourself, Google has some exciting news. As of today, any personal Google account user in the US can access AI avatars in Vids for free, with plans to expand to additional regions later this summer. Free users can generate up to 10 videos each month, which can be shared between avatar creations and Veo-powered clips.

Your presentations now feature a free AI presenter

You can select a default avatar from Google's curated selection or create a personalized one using Nano Banana 2. Both options allow for scripts and voiceovers in 24 languages, enabling the same avatar to present your product in English one day and in Arabic or Vietnamese the next.

If you've already created presentations in Google Slides, Vids can transform your deck into a storyboard and generate a script for an avatar to present onscreen, eliminating the need to deliver the same pitch across different time zones.

Don't want to show a face? Paid users on AI Pro, Ultra, and Business or Enterprise tiers have the option to utilize an AI voiceover instead, available in eight languages, including Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and French.

Paid Veo users can also exceed the previous eight-second clip limitation with the new longer limits in Veo 3.1 on Vids, allowing for a more cohesive storytelling experience.

What’s next for your avatars in Google Vids?

Later this summer, both free and paid users will receive an Emotion Steering feature, allowing adjustments to how an avatar or AI voiceover conveys a message to better align with your intended tone.

The Emotion Steering feature complements Direct Avatars, which allows you to place avatars in a scene and animate them to walk, talk, and interact with objects by simply typing a prompt.

With free avatars, multilingual voiceovers, emotion controls, and extended AI-generated video lengths, Google Vids enables you to produce professional content without the expense and time associated with traditional video production.
