Boox's compact e-reader, designed for comfortable handling, will delight book lovers with its stylus and charming appearance.
Boox has introduced stylus support for the Go 6 e-reader to enable note-taking.
Boox has unveiled the Go 6 (Gen II), its latest 6-inch E Ink reader and the successor to the 2024 Boox Go 6. This new version maintains the compact and lightweight design that made the original model popular while adding a significant enhancement in the form of note-taking capabilities.
The Go 6 (Gen II) is now available for pre-order at the official Boox shop for $199.99, with shipping expected to start around June 17. It continues to be a portable travel e-reader, but the new stylus support provides additional flexibility compared to the 2024 model.
A travel-friendly reader with a new look
The most noticeable change is its updated suitcase-inspired design. The back features tactile grooves and softer curves, and the device is now offered in four colors: Plum, Stone, Shell, and Custard. Weighing approximately 160 grams and measuring 6.8 mm thick, it remains easy to carry in a bag or pocket, although it is slightly heavier than the 2024 Go 6, which weighed 146 grams.
The screen specifications remain the same. The Go 6 (Gen II) includes a 6-inch monochrome E Ink display with a resolution of 1448 x 1072 and a pixel density of 300 dpi. It also features an anti-glare glass cover and adjustable warm and cold front lights for varied reading conditions.
What has changed from the 2024 Boox Go 6
The key upgrade is the addition of note-taking functionality. The Go 6 (Gen II) is compatible with the InkSense Plus stylus, sold separately, and comes with a built-in notes application. Users can annotate books, underline excerpts, jot down quick reminders, and create handwritten to-do lists.
Performance has seen a slight improvement with 3GB of RAM, up from the 2GB RAM found in the 2024 model. Storage capacity remains at 32GB, with a microSD card slot for expansion. The battery continues to be 1,500mAh, and connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and USB-C. Since the device operates on Android 11, users can install compatible apps from the Google Play Store.
While the stylus support adds a useful feature for highlighting text and taking notes, those seeking a more straightforward option at a lower price can still find the first-generation Go 6 available on the Boox website for approximately $160.
