Are you awaiting your Framework Laptop 13 Pro? You'll have to wait a little while longer.
Good news: they've identified the issues. Bad news: your laptop is delayed.
If you pre-ordered the Framework Laptop 13 Pro and were anticipating its arrival in June or July, I have some unfortunate news. Framework has informed customers via email that shipments are now pushed back by approximately a month.
As stated in the email shared by a Reddit user, first-batch shipments have been rescheduled from late June to late July, and some units may extend into early August. Framework intends to regain its original timeline by August; however, the company concedes that the last batches in August carry a possibility of being delayed into early September.
The Framework 13 Pro is among the most eagerly awaited laptops for 2026, and this delay will certainly dishearten customers who have placed pre-orders. Nonetheless, the reason for the setback seems to be valid.
Why is the Framework Laptop 13 Pro experiencing delays?
According to the email, as Framework was gearing up for mass production, it uncovered two concerns: one related to the new haptic touchpad and another regarding the custom display.
The touchpad problem is the more significant of the two. During testing, Framework discovered a rare issue that resulted in the touchpad resetting itself after multiple clicks. The problem was traced back to an electrical grounding flaw in the PCB design, prompting the creation of a new PCB to resolve it. Although Framework attempted a firmware solution on the initial design, the units continued to malfunction, so they are now awaiting the new PCBs, expected to reach their assembly factory by mid-July.
The display concern was straightforward. A panel on one unit failed to initialize, and the supplier identified it as a rare case in the initialization parameters. A firmware update has resolved this, and the updated panels will not further delay the laptops. However, if you pre-ordered the new display separately, that shipment will be delayed by a month.
What if you prefer not to wait?
If the revised timeline does not suit you, Framework indicates that your pre-order deposit is fully refundable. That said, a month's delay isn't excessively long, and I anticipate that most people will choose not to cancel their pre-orders.
Delays are never ideal, but I would prefer a dependable touchpad over a rapid shipment. Here’s hoping Framework adheres to its updated schedule.

Your Windows 11 PC can now run AI workloads natively, even without the Copilot+ badge.
For nearly a year, Microsoft has been indicating that the future of AI on Windows belongs to Copilot+ PCs. If you desired Microsoft's most advanced local AI features, you needed a device with a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU). That was the arrangement. However, Microsoft now seems to be altering the terms.
According to revised documentation, the local Language Model APIs in Windows 11 can now operate on non-Copilot+ PCs, provided they possess an Nvidia GeForce RTX 30-series GPU (or newer) with at least 6GB of VRAM. On the surface, this may seem like an update aimed at developers. In reality, it could represent one of the most substantial changes in Microsoft's AI PC strategy since the introduction of Copilot+ PCs last year. More importantly, it raises a lingering question since the advent of the AI PC era: Did we really require NPUs for all of this initially?
The Windows 11 June update enhances the responsiveness of your Start menu and Search.
The Low Latency Profile is the initial targeted fix that Microsoft has released to enhance shell responsiveness, and the June update makes it available to all eligible PCs rather than just Insiders.
If you've ever clicked on the Start button and waited a second or two for the menu to appear, you understand the problem Microsoft is seeking to resolve with its June 2026 Windows 11 update. The update (KB5094126) was implemented on June 9, 2026, for Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2, focusing on shell responsiveness issues that have quietly annoyed users since its introduction in 2021. The main update is the widespread rollout of the Low Latency Profile.
