The X app now allows users to directly record videos capturing their reactions and frustrations about almost anything.
Expressing your response through typing is outdated. X encourages you to record it instead.
If you've spent any time browsing Instagram Reels or TikToks, you've likely seen a video format where a creator superimposes their video over the content they're discussing. This format has gained popularity among creators, as these videos frequently go viral.
X, a platform known for its climate of unnecessary outrage, aims to capitalize on the trend of reaction videos by enabling users to record them directly within the app. This feature allows creators to respond with video on X posts, providing them with more opportunities for self-expression.
Commentary is a key element of X. Sometimes the best way to articulate your thoughts is through video. Today, we are introducing a new way to do just that: "React with Video." Simply tap the repost button to start recording using green screen or split screen features. — Nikita Bier (@nikitabier) June 2, 2026
If you’ve ever felt that a text response didn’t fully capture your feelings, this new feature will suit you perfectly.
How does "React with Video" function?
The “React with Video” feature appears in the overlay menu when you select the Repost button on a post. Tapping on it opens the original post in the background with your video overlaying it.
You can then press the record button and begin sharing your thoughts. A feature I appreciate is the option to pause the recording, allowing you to collect your thoughts. Once you finish recording, you can tap the checkmark to preview your video.
If you're satisfied with the result, you can post it as a reaction to the original post.
What options do you have for reacting with video?
It seems X has put a lot of consideration into this feature, offering users significant customization options. By default, your video is displayed as an overlay, with X automatically removing your background. You can resize and reposition the video anywhere on the screen.
If the original post has accompanying media, you can opt for full-screen mode and hide the text, which is useful if you prefer focusing on the visual content rather than the text. Additionally, your video can be displayed in various formats, including picture-in-picture and split-screen modes.
For fans of reaction videos, this new feature will significantly simplify the creation process. As for why anyone would invest time into making such videos, that’s a question only they can answer.

Snapchat Planets: What’s the order, and what do they represent?
Snapchat Planets transforms your list of best friends into a solar system, and yes, your position indicates a lot. Snapchat is already filled with various symbols that can be confusing to interpret. There are streaks, emojis, badges, scores, Best Friends, and for Snapchat Plus users, a mini solar system that illustrates your placement in someone’s close friends list.
The feature is known as the Friend Solar System, but most refer to it as Snapchat Planets. It translates your rank in a friend's Snapchat orbit into a planet. From Mercury to Neptune, these planets represent your closeness to someone.
