Google's first new smart speaker in six years may finally have a launch date.
Google's self-imposed deadline of Spring 2026 has passed without any updates.
Google has remained unusually silent regarding its Gemini-powered Home Speaker since its announcement in October 2025. I anticipated seeing the device at I/O 2026, but that did not occur either.
Recently, a product page on Best Buy Canada posted (and subsequently leaked) a potential release date, hinting that the wait might soon be over.
According to the Best Buy page, the Home Speaker could be launched on June 25, 2026 (via 9To5Google). The page has since been updated, and the launch date has been removed—a move typically associated with actual release dates rather than placeholders.
How do we know about this release date? Multiple outlets took screenshots before the date was taken down. Although Google has yet to confirm the launch date for the Home Speaker, June 25 is just four days after spring ends on June 21, which lends it further credibility.
I believe the delay is deliberate. Google needed to complete the rollout of Gemini for Home on existing hardware before launching new devices. This rollout has been ongoing since October 2025, with updates delivered three to four times a month starting in March 2026.
What features does the Google Home Speaker offer?
The device features a 360-degree fabric design, with everything except the base, which includes a microphone mute switch and a ring of status lights that illuminate when the speaker is listening, processing, or responding. Some functionalities, such as brainstorming, necessitate a Gemini subscription.
You can also connect two speakers with the Google TV Streamer for a home cinema experience, and stereo pairing with current Nest Audio speakers allows for multi-room audio across the home.
Google's Gemini AI assistant facilitates natural language conversations, alongside smart home control and automation capabilities. Priced at $99.99 in the US, it will be offered in four colors: Berry, Hazel, Jade, and Porcelain. It is confirmed to be available in 19 countries, including the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Ireland, and Japan.

Asus V700 Mini desktop showcases a wood-grain finish that sets a design trend worth keeping.
Asus’ V700 Mini Tower features AI PC hardware wrapped in a wood-grain design tailored for actual living spaces.
Announced at Computex 2026, the Asus V700 Mini Tower offers a unique design for home desktops. Retaining the familiar tower PC shape, it replaces the typical cold box look with clean lines, soft contours, and a wood-grain finish suited for visibility in living areas.
This visual transformation is significant. A mini desktop no longer needs to be concealed under a desk, behind a monitor, or next to a router due to an unappealing appearance. Asus introduced the V700 Mini Tower as part of its AI PC lineup at Computex 2026, with the warmer design distinguishing its identity.

Asus Zenbook 14 features new colors and hopefully a price worthy of competing with MacBook Neo.
Asus has unveiled a refreshed Zenbook 14 at Computex 2026, boasting a color range that most AI laptops typically eschew. The options of Arctic Blue, Komodo Coral, and Zabriskie Beige give this 14-inch ultraportable a more vibrant appeal compared to competing arguments about neural processors.
The updated Zenbook 14 showcases these colors on a 1.1kg Ceraluminum and metal chassis. It also meets premium laptop standards with Copilot+ PC support, OLED display alternatives, and processor options across Intel, AMD, and Snapdragon. However, one critical detail remains unanswered for it to compete against the MacBook Neo—its price.

Ultra-Wideband technology and a polling rate of 8000 Hz ensure your wireless issues are resolved.
Cherry XTRFY introduced the K63W Pro Compact at Computex 2026, and its standout feature is something rarely seen in gaming keyboards: Ultra-Wideband technology. With a true polling rate of 8000 Hz, this compact keyboard aims to be a formidable wireless choice for gamers who refuse to compromise on performance. What role does Ultra-Wideband play in a keyboard?
