The Asus ROG Ally X receives a unique redesign featuring an OLED screen and elegant gold accents that appear refined rather than flashy.

The package features a translucent black and gold Ally X equipped with an OLED display, TMR joysticks, and AR glasses.

Limited edition gaming hardware has a longstanding tradition of simply adding a commemorative color or accents to existing devices.

The ROG Xbox Ally X20 bundle, unveiled at Computex 2026 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of ASUS’s ROG brand, avoids that trap. The revamped design alone warrants closer examination.

      What distinguishes the Ally X20?

The most noticeable alteration is in the handheld's appearance. The X20 boasts a translucent black chassis reminiscent of the semi-transparent designs from the early 2000s, with a golden structure visible beneath it.

This outcome is impressive without being flashy, which is more challenging to achieve than it might seem for anything adorned with gold. Yes, I’m referring to those unbearable gold-themed limited-edition iPhone mods.

Beyond its aesthetics, the X20 features an OLED display, making it the first of its kind for the Ally handheld. The new Nebula HDR 7.4-inch screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate with FreeSync Premium Pro and can reach a peak brightness of 1,400 nits.

However, that's not all. The handheld supports Dolby Vision and offers a response time of 0.2 ms. The display is safeguarded by Corning DXC glass with an anti-reflective coating, reducing glare by 65%. The thermal design has been entirely revamped to accommodate OLED’s increased sensitivity to heat.

      What other innovations are included?

The X20 incorporates TMR joystick technology, which the company asserts is more accurate than Hall effect sensors, in addition to a Transforming D-Pad that can alternate between four-way and eight-way modes.

The rear grips now feature a rubberized coating for enhanced comfort during lengthy gaming sessions. Internally, it is powered by an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, combined with 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD.

The X20 is sold as a bundle with the ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses, connected via a single USB-C cable. For those unfamiliar, the glasses project a 171-inch virtual screen at a distance of 4 meters using micro-OLED, boast a refresh rate of 240Hz, cover 95% of the focused field of view, and incorporate native 3DoF tracking.

ASUS has yet to disclose the pricing and availability of the new ROG Xbox Ally X20 bundle, but it certainly appears to be an enticing product for gaming enthusiasts.

Sony’s FlexStrike fight stick and gaming monitor with a charging hook are officially set to release in June.

Sony is finally announcing release dates for two PlayStation accessories that have remained in the "coming soon" category since their showcase last year. The company confirmed that preorders for its FlexStrike wireless fight stick and its unique 27-inch gaming monitor featuring a built-in DualSense charging hook will commence this June, with both items expected to be available later in the summer.

For fans of fighting games and PlayStation players at their desks, these represent two of Sony’s most intriguing hardware innovations beyond the PS5.

The Radeon RX 9070 GRE has made bold claims regarding 1440p performance, but its $549 price tag could prove challenging.

The Radeon RX 9070 GRE has now been launched globally at Computex 2026 following its debut in China. AMD first revealed the RDNA 4-based GPU in May 2025, making this a broader release rather than the introduction of an entirely new graphics card. It will be available from board partners starting June 2, in both reference and overclocked versions, with a suggested retail price of $549.

Alienware’s latest gaming monitors promise higher brightness and refresh rates with prices starting at $300.

Alienware has introduced four new screens out of Computex 2026, catering to serious PC gamers across nearly all tiers. Its latest Alienware gaming monitors feature brighter OLED displays, faster ultrawide refresh rates, and affordable $299.99 240Hz options.

The lineup includes a 39-inch 5K OLED flagship, a 34-inch 280Hz QD-OLED ultrawide, and two 240Hz QHD LCD options available in 32-inch and 34-inch sizes. This variety offers Alienware a premium halo product while moving fast QHD screens closer to mainstream upgrade appeal.
