Unexpectedly, Acer has released two pairs of smart glasses that appear quite fashionable.
Acer's unexpected launch of smart glasses ahead of Computex 2026 introduces two truly practical options to the market.
In the year 2026, the conversation about smart glasses is largely dominated by a few noteworthy brands: Meta, Samsung, and Google. While other companies have existing products, they may not have anticipated competition from this previously quiet PC and laptop brand, Acer. The company has discreetly unveiled two pairs of glasses before Computex 2026, both of which appear to be genuine offerings rather than experiments.
What features does Acer's wired AR headset offer?
Among the two smart glasses, the AR Vision GR0 stands out as the more immersive option.
It connects to your phone, laptop, or tablet through a wired connection and projects dual micro OLED displays (one for each eye) at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 in 2D or 3840 x 1080 in 3D, simulating a 172-inch screen as seen from approximately 20 feet away.
Weighing just 69 grams, it is relatively lightweight for a wired AR device. Additionally, it can be equipped with an optional detachable light shield and myopia magnetic lens support, enhancing its practicality compared to most glasses in this category.
The device is compatible with Android, iOS, and Windows, without any platform restrictions. The AR Vision GR0 is available in North America for $499.99.
Acer is also competing with Meta’s Ray-Ban
The Acer GI0 AI Glasses present a different approach. They resemble Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses more than an AR headset.
These glasses offer wireless connectivity and pair with your phone via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, featuring Google Gemini as the chosen AI assistant.
Their specifications include a 12MP camera for capturing first-person photos and videos, real-time AI translation, live captions, and voice recording, further aligning them with the Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses.
Data is stored on the device’s 32GB onboard storage. These glasses are compatible with Android and iOS through the Acer AspireSync companion app. Weighing in at just 46 grams for the frames, they are suitable for everyday use. You can purchase the smart glasses for $299.99 in North America.

Apple is set to release new Beats headphones, and Barca star Lamine Yamal has already been seen wearing them.
Beats is preparing to launch new over-ear headphones, although neither the company nor Apple has officially announced them. The first glimpse came from Lamine Yamal, an 18-year-old forward for Barcelona, as he arrived at Spain's World Cup training camp wearing a pair of unreleased pink Beats headphones. Yamal shared photos and a video on Instagram, which attracted over 1.8 million likes, showcasing his entrance to camp.
Following smart glasses, Meta seemingly plans to have you wear its all-listening AI pendant
Meta’s aspirations for smart glasses are no longer a secret. The company has spent the last few years convincing users that AI should be part of their daily lives. Now, according to a new report, it aims to move even closer to users with the development of an AI-powered pendant, set for testing in the coming year. This wearable would add to the growing array of AI hardware, but unlike smart glasses, it may quietly listen from around your neck.
This concept is reminiscent of Meta’s acquisition of the AI startup Limitless in 2025, whose primary product was a clip-on microphone called the Pendant—designed to continuously capture conversations and ambient audio, turning them into searchable transcripts and reminders. At that time, the acquisition appeared to be a strategic move into AI wearables, and it seems Meta is now ready to utilize this potential.
Samsung’s Galaxy Watch is about to become significantly smarter in interpreting your health data.
Samsung’s smartwatch has consistently excelled in health tracking not due to a lack of data, but rather an overflow of it. Galaxy Watches already collect data on heart rate, sleep patterns, body composition, and activity metrics. However, this wealth of information often ends up obscured in graphs that many users view just once. Thankfully, this may be changing. According to a post from tipster TonySamsunglove on X, Samsung is gearing up to launch the first beta version of One UI 9 Watch.
