Acer unveils its Veriton compact PC aimed at competing with the Mac mini, featuring AMD Ryzen and a host of AI capabilities.
Acer's Veriton RA110 features the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor, 128GB of RAM, and capabilities to support local AI models with 200 billion parameters, all packed into a compact desktop design.
The Mac mini has consistently served as a popular choice for professionals seeking high performance in a small, affordable desktop.
Acer’s Veriton RA110 AI Mini Workstation directly targets this market, equipped with AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor. It is designed for professionals who prefer a powerful machine without the bulk of a traditional tower.
What makes the Veriton RA110 noteworthy?
The standout specification is its processor: the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395. This chip includes a neural processing unit with over 50 TOPS of performance and integrated Radeon graphics, allowing it to efficiently run local AI models with as many as 200 billion parameters on the device.
This capability is particularly impressive for a device of its size, placing the RA110 in the category of emerging desktops designed for local AI inference rather than standard business computers.
Acer has outfitted this mini workstation with up to 128GB of LPDDR5X four-channel memory and up to 2TB of M.2 SSD storage, providing ample resources for handling extensive language models, 3D rendering, and video production tasks with ease.
What additional features does it offer?
The RA110 functions as a Copilot+ PC, thanks to its robust neural processing unit, and includes a fingerprint reader for Windows Hello biometric access. It supports connectivity options like Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and RJ45 Ethernet, along with a Kensington lock slot for added security.
Acer also offers its Sense Pro software, which allows users to monitor CPU, GPU, memory, and thermal performance in real-time, along with three operational modes: Silent, Balanced, and Performance.
While Acer has yet to announce US pricing or a release date, the product is listed on the company’s regional website, and an announcement for US availability is expected soon.
