MSI's Triple Mode OLED monitor stole the show at Computex, and I truly can't wait to see it.
MSI's Triple Mode OLED sets new standards for gaming monitors at Computex 2026.
Dual-mode gaming monitors have been common for a while now, and their novelty has diminished. MSI has recognized that two modes are insufficient and has introduced the MPG OLED 322URDX36 prior to Computex 2026.
This monitor is the world's first Triple Mode gaming monitor, and if it performs as well as it claims, it could become one of the few gaming monitors that genuinely capture my interest.
What is Triple Mode and why is it significant?
The MPG OLED 322URDX36 allows users to switch between three combinations of resolution and refresh rate: 4K at 360Hz, 2K at 520Hz, and FHD at 680Hz. Even when prioritizing resolution, users still obtain a 360Hz refresh rate.
Current dual-mode monitors available only switch between 4K and FHD or 2K and FHD, but none achieve 360Hz at 4K, and none provide three modes. MSI is the first to accomplish both.
This monitor uses a 32-inch fifth-generation QD-OLED panel created with Samsung’s Penta Tandem technology, the same design Samsung has utilized to enhance brightness and lifespan in its latest models.
It boasts a peak HDR brightness of 1,500 nits, which enhances visibility even in well-lit environments. MSI has also included its DarkArmor Film from previous models, which improves black levels by 40% compared to standard OLED panels.
What about connectivity?
The MPG OLED 322URDX36 features a DisplayPort 2.1a port with UHBR20, enabling 4K at 360Hz without compression, as well as a USB Type-C port that offers 98W power delivery. This USB-C charging capability is significant for creators and professionals.
MSI plans to officially launch the MPG OLED 322URDX36 at Computex 2026, beginning on June 2, 2026. Pricing and availability details have yet to be revealed.
While the gaming monitor market has been revisiting the same dual-refresh rate concept for nearly two years, MSI’s Triple Mode represents a genuinely innovative step forward since the advent of dual-mode monitors. While supply chain and pricing considerations may still require attention, the technology itself shows considerable promise.
