MSI’s Triple Mode OLED monitor is a highlight of Computex, and I truly can't wait to see it.
MSI's Triple Mode OLED sets a new standard for gaming monitors at Computex 2026.
Dual-mode gaming monitors have been around for a while, and the excitement has faded. MSI has opted for a more advanced approach by introducing the MPG OLED 322URDX36 prior to Computex 2026.
This monitor is the world's first Triple Mode gaming display, and if the implementation is as impressive as it appears, it could indeed be a gaming monitor that catches my attention.
What is Triple Mode and why is it significant?
The MPG OLED 322URDX36 allows users to switch between three combinations of resolution and refresh rates: 4K at 360Hz, 2K at 520Hz, and FHD at 680Hz. Even if you prioritize resolution, you still benefit from a 360Hz refresh rate.
Currently, dual-mode monitors can switch between either 4K and FHD or 2K and FHD, but none achieve 360Hz at 4K, nor do any offer three modes. MSI is the first to accomplish both.
This monitor includes a 32-inch fifth-generation QD-OLED panel created with Samsung's Penta Tandem technology, the same framework Samsung has utilized to enhance brightness and longevity in its recent models.
It boasts peak HDR brightness of 1,500 nits, improving visibility even in well-lit environments. MSI has also included its DarkArmor Film from previous models, which enhances black levels by 40% compared to standard OLED panels.
Additionally, MSI unveiled a 34-inch ultrawide monitor designed to address a key limitation of QD-OLED technology. The MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36 features:
• 3440 x 1440 ultrawide resolution
• 360Hz refresh rate
• 0.03ms response time
• 5th-Gen Tandem QD-OLED
• RGB Stripe subpixel layout
What about connectivity?
The MPG OLED 322URDX36 is equipped with a DisplayPort 2.1a port featuring UHBR20, allowing for 4K at 360Hz without compression, in addition to a USB Type-C port that supports 98W power delivery, which is beneficial for creators and professionals.
MSI will officially introduce the MPG OLED 322URDX36 during Computex 2026, which starts on June 2, 2026. Pricing and availability have yet to be announced.
While the gaming monitor industry has been revisiting the same dual-refresh rate concept for nearly two years, MSI's Triple Mode represents the first significant innovation since the advent of dual-mode. Although the supply chain and pricing may need refinement, the technology itself looks quite promising.
