Sony's Days of Play 2026 promotion would have been an ideal chance to purchase a PS5 at a reduced price, especially after the recent price increase for the console. However, according to a new report from reliable tipster billbil-kun on Dealabs, this may not occur this year.

      What discounts are anticipated during Days of Play 2026?

      As per billbil-kun, Days of Play 2026 is scheduled to take place from May 27 to June 10. This event will coincide with Sony’s next State of Play presentation on June 2, where the company is expected to provide over 60 minutes of updates, including an extended preview of Marvel’s Wolverine.

      The leaked promotions primarily involve accessories, PSVR 2, and a few games. Some DualSense controllers are expected to be priced about €20 less, reducing them to €54.99. The DualSense Edge may also see a minor discount, falling from €219.99 to €189.99. The PSVR 2 might receive one of the largest reductions, with its price reportedly decreasing from €449.99 to €349.99. Ghost of Yōtei is also anticipated to be lowered from €79.99 to €54.99, while the Pulse Elite headset and Pulse Explore earbuds could be discounted by at least €20.

      PlayStation Plus, which just underwent a price increase, might also get an additional 5% discount through PlayStation Direct, which may be combined with Days of Play deals.

      Will there be a PS5 discount this year?

      The most notable omission appears to be the PS5 itself. Contrary to previous Days of Play promotions, billbil-kun indicates that there is presently no indication of a Sony-supported discount for the PS5, PS5 Digital Edition, or PS5 Pro consoles.

      This absence is particularly disappointing this year since PS5 hardware is more costly compared to last year’s sale. Sony recently raised the prices to $649.99/€649.99 for the standard PS5, $599.99/€599.99 for the Digital Edition, and $899.99/€899.99 for the PS5 Pro.
