Google showcases audio glasses created in collaboration with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.

Collaboratively designed with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster, the smart glasses are set to launch later this year.

At the I/O 2026 Developer Conference, Google showcased the first glimpse of the upcoming Gemini-powered Intelligent Eyewear. Running on the Android XR stack, these glasses are created in partnership with Samsung and Qualcomm, featuring design elements from Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. This collaboration parallels Meta's earlier efforts with smart glasses, which began with Ray-Ban and expanded to include Oakley.

Google refers to them as audio glasses since they lack a built-in screen, and most interactions with Gemini will occur via voice and audio commands. The glasses feature two front-facing cameras for capturing images and gaining an understanding of the environment. By utilizing the camera’s visuals, users can pose questions to Gemini.

For instance, simply looking at a restaurant will allow you to ask Gemini for reviews and directions. Navigation is a fundamental aspect of these smart glasses, enabling users to receive turn-by-turn guidance through natural language communication. In addition, the glasses will facilitate text message handling, call management, and summarizing messages.

An intriguing feature demonstrated at the I/O 2026 event was the ability to capture and edit images in real time. After taking a photo, users can ask Gemini to add fun edits. These adjustments are managed by the Gemini Nano Banana engine, and once completed, users will receive a preview on their mobile device or smartwatch.

Moreover, these smart glasses will support real-time translations and assist in background task management. Users can summon Gemini to place food or grocery orders, and once the task is finished, they can confirm its completion.

These glasses will also be compatible with third-party applications, such as booking rides through Uber. Future updates are expected to enhance support for additional applications and services. Notably, although these smart glasses operate on the Android XR platform, they are also compatible with iPhones.

Google is set to release various smart glasses this year, with the first product running on the Android XR platform from Samsung anticipated around July. This space is becoming increasingly crowded. At the same I/O 2026 Developers Conference, Google also introduced a new type of audio glasses, designed in collaboration with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster.

However, the most intriguing product is the Xreal Project Aura smart glasses, which feature complete hand gesture support and a mixed reality view for Android apps available via the Play Store. Initially unveiled in December 2025, Xreal confirmed earlier today that Project Aura smart glasses will be available to consumers in 2026.

In other news, Sony has introduced the 1000X Collexion headphones, priced at $649.99, blending metal and leather aesthetics without sacrificing audio quality.

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of its classic 1000X series of headphones, Sony has released a new model that emphasizes luxury design and premium materials. These are dubbed the 1000X THE COLLEXION noise-canceling headphones. They resemble the standard WH-1000XM6 headphones but feature an elevated price point and different styling. Available in platinum and black, the new Sony headphones retail for $649.99.

Marshall has introduced the Milton ANC, priced at $229, known for lasting 80 hours with a replaceable battery. It offers features typically reserved for higher-end models from Sony and Bose, such as adaptive ANC and LDAC.

Marshall continues its tradition of producing headphones that look as if they belong to a 1970s rock concert, and the new Milton ANC fits right in. Regardless of aesthetics, the features provided at $229 are compelling.

Announced on May 19, 2026, the Milton ANC headphones are available through Marshall’s website. They represent the company's first over-ear model with adaptive noise cancellation, positioned between the Major V ($149) and the Monitor III ANC ($349) in Marshall's product line.
