Instagram's new Edit Story feature eliminates the need to delete and recreate an entire story.
We've all experienced posting an Instagram Story with a typo, forcing us to remove it completely and start from scratch. Fortunately, those days might be over.
Instagram is rolling out a feature that allows users to edit a Story after it has been posted. Currently, this appears to be a limited rollout. Social media consultant Matt Navarra was among the first to notice it on X.
Additional users have confirmed they are also seeing this feature, sharing their screenshots on Threads.
What capabilities does the Edit Story feature provide?
According to the screenshots, this feature allows users to revisit a previously published Story and make changes without having to take it down completely.

However, there is a warning stating: “Once you start editing, the original version of this story will be deleted. Any likes, reactions, or comments received will be reset.”
At this point, it’s unclear which aspects will be editable once the feature is fully launched — whether it includes text, captions, stickers, emojis, links, or tags. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
Is Instagram’s Edit Story feature accessible to everyone?
Not at the moment. The feature seems to be in a limited rollout currently, with only a few iOS users reporting access thus far. Android users might gain access later as the rollout expands. Instagram has not made any official announcements, but with multiple users already accessing it, the wait should not be lengthy.
Instagram has been actively releasing updates recently, including allowing users to edit comments within a 15-minute window after posting and introducing Instants, a disappearing photo feature for close friends. However, the removal of end-to-end encryption from DMs was a controversial decision that upset many users.

Meta is testing a new feature that allows its AI chatbot to have a dedicated Threads account, @meta.ai, that users can tag directly in their posts and replies. The bot will then respond publicly with additional context, suggestions, or information about the ongoing discussion.

Meta launched its AI chatbot on Threads this week, but it comes with an unexpected catch. The new @meta.ai account, as reported by Engadget, functions similarly to Grok on X.
