Uber now allows you to reserve hotel accommodations and have your driver deliver snacks.
Uber aims to transform into your all-in-one app for arranging your ride, accommodation, meals, and even your morning coffee. During its annual GO-GET product event, the company introduced a range of new features, with hotel booking being the highlight.
How does Uber’s hotel booking feature function?
Thanks to a new collaboration with Expedia Group, users can now search and reserve hotels directly within the Uber app. A new Hotels section will appear on the home screen, allowing you to input your destination and filter results from over 700,000 global properties.
Members of Uber One will enjoy enhanced benefits, including a minimum of 20% off on a rotating selection of 10,000 hotels and 10% back in Uber credits with every booking. These credits can be redeemed for future Uber rides. Additionally, Vrbo vacation rentals are set to be incorporated into the app later this year.
Starting in June, Uber rides will also be integrated into the Expedia app, and travelers will receive push notifications prior to check-in to arrange discounted rides for their journey. From June 1, Uber One benefits will be available worldwide, allowing members to earn credits and enjoy perks while traveling internationally.

The company announced several other new features during the event. The Eats for the Way function enables Uber Black and Uber Black SUV passengers to add a drink or snack to their order, ensuring your coffee is ready when the driver arrives. This feature will initially launch in cities such as Atlanta, Austin, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Diego, and San Francisco.
Shop for Me allows users to request a courier to visit any store, including those not listed on Uber Eats, to pick up items and deliver them. You can describe the desired item, set a budget, and pay the in-store price plus a delivery fee.
Another feature, dubbed Travel Mode, will offer tailored local recommendations, dining suggestions, and tourist attractions upon arrival in a new location.

Voice Bookings, powered by artificial intelligence, allows users to book rides hands-free simply by speaking to the app. Additionally, One Search merges rides, food, and store results into a single search bar, minimizing the need to switch between Uber and Uber Eats.
In parallel, Uber is also launching driverless Mercedes-Benz S-Class cars, collaborating with Rivian to introduce thousands of robotaxis to roadways, and deploying a Cart Assistant on Uber Eats to facilitate faster shopping with fewer taps.
