Uber aims to be your all-in-one app for arranging rides, hotels, meals, and even morning coffee. During its annual GO-GET product event, the company introduced a series of new features, with hotel booking taking center stage.
How does the new hotel booking feature from Uber work?
Thanks to a new collaboration with Expedia Group, users can now search for and reserve hotels directly within the Uber app. A new Hotels section will be added to the home screen, allowing you to input your destination and filter results from over 700,000 properties worldwide.
Members of Uber One will benefit even more, receiving at least a 20% discount on a rotating selection of 10,000 hotels and 10% back in Uber credits on each booking. These credits can be used for future Uber rides. Additionally, Vrbo vacation rentals will be integrated into the app later this year.
Starting in June, Uber rides will also be available through the Expedia app, with travelers receiving notifications before check-in to book discounted rides for their journey. From June 1, Uber One perks will be available globally, enabling members to earn credits and access benefits while traveling internationally.

At the event, Uber introduced several additional features. The Eats for the Way option allows Uber Black and Uber Black SUV passengers to add a drink or snack to their ride, ensuring that your coffee is waiting for you in the passenger seat when your driver arrives. This feature will first launch in cities like Atlanta, Austin, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Diego, and San Francisco.
Shop for Me enables users to request a courier to go to any store, including ones not featured on Uber Eats, pick up needed items, and deliver them to you. You simply describe the item, set a budget, and pay the in-store price along with a delivery fee.
Another new feature, Travel Mode, will offer personalized local recommendations, dining suggestions, and popular tourist attractions upon arrival in a new location.

Voice Bookings, powered by AI, allows users to book rides hands-free by speaking to the app. Additionally, One Search merges ride, food, and shop results into one search bar, minimizing the need to toggle between Uber and Uber Eats.
In other developments, Uber is set to deploy driverless Mercedes-Benz S-Class vehicles, partner with Rivian to introduce thousands of robotaxis to urban streets, and launch a Cart Assistant on Uber Eats to streamline shopping with fewer steps.
