Your Essential Space content can now accompany you wherever you are within the Nothing ecosystem.
Essential Space's cloud backup not only safeguards your captures but also creates a seamless experience within the Nothing and CMF ecosystem for the first time.
Nothing has discreetly addressed one of the most frustrating aspects of Essential Space. The company has introduced cloud backup for the content stored in this feature, meaning it is no longer restricted to a single device.
Now, your data can follow you if you decide to switch from one Nothing or CMF device to another, as it syncs through your Nothing account.
Essential Space is now always accessible to you. Cloud storage ensures that your notes, screenshots, voice recordings, images, tasks, and summaries are backed up and synced through your Nothing account. Therefore, when you upgrade to a new phone or reset your device, your Space goes with you. pic.twitter.com/JSX4Ho4EYN— Essential (@essential) April 27, 2026
What exactly is being backed up?
All items captured using the Essential Key are eligible for backup. This encompasses your audio recordings, quick screenshots, saved images, email or document summaries—essentially, everything in your Essential Space content library. The feature also accounts for offline captures.
If app auto-updates are activated in the Google Play Store, the app should automatically receive the new feature. If not, you can manually update the app to enable cloud backup.
After installing the update, navigate to Essential Space > Profile > Storage, and select Backup to set it up. The feature utilizes Google's cloud infrastructure (not Google Drive); it does not count against your personal Google storage limit.
Additionally, the data remains GDPR-compliant, meaning only you have access to the content.
This feature is rolling out today to all 2025-2026 Nothing and CMF phones that support the Essential Key. Update Essential Space from the Google Play Store, or enable auto-update for automatic installation.— Essential (@essential) April 27, 2026
Which devices are compatible with this feature?
Currently, cloud backup for Essential Space is being introduced to all 2025-2026 Nothing and CMF phones that come with the Essential Key. This includes the Nothing Phone (3), Phone (4a), Phone (4a) Pro, and CMF Phone 2 Pro, among others.
Older devices that lack the Essential Key are not supported, at least for now. It's worth mentioning that there is no web or desktop version of Essential Space, a point that the company has already acknowledged.
For Nothing to establish a functional ecosystem of devices, the Essential Space cloud backup is crucial. Without it, every upgrade or device reset posed a risk of data loss, but the introduction of cloud backup indicates that Nothing is moving in the right direction.

Motorola has finally created a legitimate flagship – and it only took them years.
No, we are not discussing foldables. Yes, we are referring to the Motorola Signature.
For an extended period, Motorola has occupied a peculiar space. It wasn’t entirely irrelevant, but it also wasn't truly competitive. Its phones were decent, sometimes even likable—but seldom serious contenders. That’s what renders the Motorola Signature feel different. At last, this isn’t just a “good for Motorola” phone. It’s simply… good.
And that is both refreshing and somewhat frustrating. That being said, this isn’t a groundbreaking transformation. It’s something arguably more crucial for Motorola: a correction. A correction that is likely to shape its future smartphones.

Apple’s new App Store plan allows you to pay monthly for annual subscriptions, but with a catch.
The hybrid subscription model provides a middle ground between monthly flexibility and annual savings that users have desired for years. However, it’s imperative that you fully comprehend what it entails.
No one enjoys paying for a full year of app subscriptions upfront, especially if you’re unsure whether you’ll still need them in a few months. Apple has acknowledged that frustration, sort of.
The company has introduced a new App Store subscription type: monthly billing at an annual equivalent rate. Sounds appealing, right? But there’s a catch. Monthly billing requires a 12-month commitment
