Toyota has created a gaming chair that likely costs more than your entire gaming setup.
Toyota has transformed a Crown car seat into a luxurious desk chair equipped with heating and USB-C charging capabilities.

While your gaming chair might recline, feature RGB lighting, or include a lumbar pillow that only pretends to offer support, Toyota considers that rather amusing. Toyota Boshoku has introduced the “CROWN SEAT” Desk Chair, a custom chair based on the front seat from the Toyota Crown. This lavish car seat turned office chair will cost you almost $3,500—more than double what I spent on my latest desktop setup.
A Crown seat for your office realm
The concept is as peculiar as it seems. Toyota took the front seat from its Crown series, placed it on an office-chair base, and reimagined it for a desk rather than a driveway.
The official catalog depicts a chair that still resembles something from a vehicle, boasting the cushioning and support expected from a high-end car seat. Toyota Boshoku states that the aim is to infuse the Crown's comfort into workspaces and living areas—an unusual claim until you consider the lengthy hours many people spend at a desk.

Toyota Boshoku collaborated with the Japanese office furniture company ITOKI on the chair's design to ensure it operates like a proper desk chair. It retains several comfort features from the Crown, including powered reclining, powered seat adjustment, lumbar support, and front tilt control.
These comfort features make the chair increasingly appealing. It includes a seat heater for chilly mornings and overly cold office air conditioning. Additionally, there is seat ventilation, with built-in fans that help draw heat away from the backrest and cushion. Long hours of work, gaming, or late-night spreadsheet sessions should be somewhat easier on your back.
The seat belt buckle now functions as a phone charger
The standout feature is found where the seat belt buckle typically resides. Toyota has repurposed that area into a USB-C charging port, allowing your phone to charge directly from the chair.
A rechargeable battery powers the electrical adjustments, heating, and ventilation, giving the chair characteristics of a powered car seat in the form of an office chair.
At around $3,500, the Crown Seat Desk Chair is pricier than many gaming setups. Reports indicate that only 70 units are planned for release in Japan, making it potentially hard for customers to acquire one.
