Spotify aims to serve as your fitness coach by offering guided workout sessions.
Spotify has subtly developed a fitness platform within the app you already use, and the partnership with Peloton enhances its appeal beyond expectations.
Spotify has dedicated almost two decades to helping users discover the most suitable tracks for their workout sessions. Starting today, it will also offer guided workouts through video or audio sessions.
The music streaming leader has officially introduced Spotify Fitness, a brand-new service that integrates guided workout experiences directly into the Spotify app, without requiring any additional subscriptions.
So, what is Spotify Fitness?
The Spotify app will feature a new Fitness hub, which can be accessed by searching for “fitness” or through the Browse All section. As part of its expansion into fitness offerings, both free and Premium users will have access to curated workout playlists and content from renowned wellness creators.
However, Premium users receive the most noteworthy benefits. They will have access to over 1,400 ad-free, on-demand fitness classes, thanks to Spotify’s collaboration with Peloton. These classes cover a variety of activities and exercise categories such as strength training, cardio, yoga, and meditation.
Spotify Premium users can enjoy instruction from trainers like Rebecca Kennedy, Ally Love, and Rap Lopez, and a Peloton device is not required for any of the guided sessions. Essentially, the fitness library is open to anyone using the streaming app on a smartphone, computer, or TV.
How can you effortlessly access Spotify Fitness across devices?
You can start a video class on your television, switch to audio-only mode on your phone mid-workout, and cool down with guided recovery on your smartphone speaker, all without needing to switch apps. The fitness classes are also available for offline download, ensuring that even unreliable gym Wi-Fi won’t be an excuse to skip leg day.
Spotify reports that nearly 70% of its Premium subscribers engage in physical fitness (working out monthly), making it a smart decision to offer them guided sessions and curated playlists within the app.
To me, Spotify’s foray into fitness seems less like a launch and more like a strategic play in a space already filled by fitness apps like Apple Fitness+, which iPhone users know requires a separate subscription. This service isn’t included in the Apple Music subscription, and that’s precisely where Spotify’s Fitness service is positioned, providing two services for one subscription.

A new Fire TV Stick HD has quietly launched with an adapter, but it’s not yet ready for primetime.
Amazon is gearing up to release an updated Fire TV Stick HD on April 29 for $35. For the first time, a Fire TV Stick will be equipped with a USB-C port instead of Micro-USB. This change has prompted Amazon to introduce a new USB-C Ethernet Adapter for $20, and a curious detail in the product description reveals.
It claims speeds of "up to 480 Mbps," indicating the adapter is technically capable of Gigabit speeds. However, no Ethernet standard exists between 100 Mbps and Gigabit, meaning the only way to achieve 480 Mbps is by using a Gigabit adapter. Nonetheless, Amazon hasn't marketed it in that manner.
The Apple TV 4K may finally evolve beyond a simple streaming device.
The Apple TV 4K has been one of the more consistent offerings in Apple’s lineup. While updates have boosted performance and added new features, the overall experience has largely remained unchanged. It has been dependable, refined, and predictable.
This may not be the case for much longer.
