Motorola's debut book-style foldable phone is on its way, equipped with impressive specifications, substantial benefits, and a launch date that finally justifies the anticipation.

After showcasing the Razr Fold at CES 2026 and introducing the device at MWC 2026, Motorola has kept potential customers on edge without a specific release date. However, those who have been patiently waiting can now relax, as the Razr Fold finally has an official launch date (with a slight caveat).

How much will the Razr Fold cost?

Motorola is currently taking pre-orders for the Razr Fold in the United Kingdom and Europe, with shipments set to start on May 6, 2026, confirming a solid launch date for these markets. In these regions, the phone is priced at £1,799.99 (approximately $2,436) for the single configuration featuring 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

To attract early buyers, the company is also offering a complimentary Moto Watch, Moto Buds Loop, along with a £220 discount. This effectively lowers the phone's price from £1,799.99 to £1,579.99 (around $2,138).

In my opinion, the pricing seems a bit steep, especially since Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, considered one of the leading book-style foldables on the market, is listed in the UK starting at £1,799 for the entry-level version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

What can you expect from the Razr Fold?

Nonetheless, Motorola is sweetening the deal with numerous freebies, making it appear more appealing, particularly for those who already possess a smartwatch and true wireless earbuds.

For the asking price, the Razr Fold boasts an 8.1-inch inner foldable display, a 6.6-inch cover screen, operates on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (which isn't Qualcomm’s flagship chip), and includes a 6,000 mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging through wired connections.

The downside is that Motorola has not yet revealed an official date for pre-orders or sales for potential buyers in the United States. Regardless, we can look forward to the May 6 launch date, with hopes that something will be available for American consumers around the same time.

Are you ready for smartphones featuring a massive 11,000mAh battery? Honor may just provide one.

Battery anxiety is a real concern for me—and probably for many others. You know the scenario: midway through a long day, your phone's battery drops to 20%, and suddenly every notification feels threatening. Honor appears to have had enough of this as they are reportedly going all out to address it. A leak from Digital Chat Station indicates that Honor is in the trial production phase of a new battery with a rated capacity of 10,690mAh, equating to a typical capacity of 11,000mAh for a smartphone. I'm quite enthusiastic about this.

This isn't the first time Honor has tackled the challenge of large batteries.

A troubling report reveals that Apple and Google’s app stores are promoting nudify apps.

If you thought Apple and Google were simply tardy in managing harmful applications on their platforms, a recent investigation indicates the issue is far more severe. The Tech Transparency Project (TTP) discovered that both the App Store and Google Play are not merely hosting nudify apps; their search and advertising systems are actively directing users toward them. Nudify apps are AI tools capable of digitally removing clothing from photos of real people. They can even produce pornographic videos or create sexually explicit chatbots using an individual’s likeness. Alarmingly, 31 of the apps identified by TTP were rated as suitable for minors.

You can finally eliminate annoying YouTube Shorts from your feed.

YouTube has just provided you with the one feature needed to escape the Shorts vortex.

I'll be straightforward: I dislike YouTube Shorts. They not only waste time but also result in a sense of wasted mental energy afterward. Fortunately, with a new update that YouTube is rolling out, you can now remove this content from your feed.

The feature builds on a Shorts timer YouTube introduced last October, which allowed users to set a daily scrolling limit between 15 minutes and two hours. Once you reach your limit, YouTube would prompt you to stop scrolling.
