The platform has launched automatic translation for posts globally, enabling users to instantly read content in their chosen language without needing to click on the translation option. This feature, powered by xAI’s Grok models, is meant to enhance the global reach of posts while streamlining cross-language interactions. Users who wish to read the original text can still disable translations for specific languages.

In addition to translation, X has unveiled a new photo editor within the app for iOS. This tool allows users to access basic editing features such as drawing, text overlays, and blurring options to obscure sensitive information like faces or personal details.

The editor also employs AI to assist users in editing images using natural language prompts. According to X's head of product, Nikita Bier, users can request Grok to alter images in specific ways. For instance, they can ask Grok to convert a regular photo into a painting-style image. Currently, this feature is exclusive to X's iOS app, but Android support is on the way.
