Maul – Shadow Lord will be back for a second season to further enrich the Star Wars universe.
Maul's return just got even more exciting!
Season 1 hasn’t premiered yet, but Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord is already confirmed to be getting a Season 2. Dave Filoni, the Chief Creative Officer, has announced that Lucasfilm Animation is officially developing the new season.
Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord Season 1 will debut on Disney+ with a two-episode launch on April 6, followed by the release of two episodes each week. A specific release date for Season 2 hasn't been announced yet, but this early renewal indicates strong confidence in the series.
What is Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord about?
For those unfamiliar, here’s a brief overview. Maul, one of Star Wars' most recognizable antagonists, was memorably cut in half by Obi-Wan Kenobi in The Phantom Menace, only to be revived in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
This animated series, consisting of 10 episodes, continues after The Clone Wars, focusing on Maul as he attempts to rebuild his criminal organization on an untouched planet. During his journey, he encounters a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan, who could become the apprentice he requires.
With Season 2 confirmed before Season 1 has even debuted, it's clear that Maul's journey is just beginning.
The impressive cast features Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee Wagner Moura as Brander Lawson, Richard Ayoade as Two-Boots, Dennis Haysbert as Master Eeko-Dio Daki, Gideon Adlon as Devon Izara, among others.
When will new episodes of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord Season 1 be available?
Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord will follow a two-episode-per-week schedule, with new episodes releasing every Sunday this month. Here’s the complete timeline:
April 6 – Episodes 1 and 2: “The Dark Revenge” and “Sinister Schemes”
April 13 – Episodes 3 and 4: “Whispers in the Unknown” and “Pride and Vengeance”
April 20 – Episodes 5 and 6: “Inquisition” and “Night of the Hunted”
April 27 – Episodes 7 and 8: “Call to the Oblivion” and “The Creeping Fear”
May 4 – Episodes 9 and 10: “Strange Allies” and the yet-to-be-titled Season 1 finale
The season will conclude on May 4, just weeks prior to the release of The Mandalorian and Grogu in theaters on May 22, providing an exciting period of Star Wars content for fans.

Is Dunesday dead? Could a new release date actually redeem Avengers: Doomsday or Dune: Part Three?
Would Earth's mightiest heroes be better off avoiding a theatrical showdown with the forces of Arrakis?
Hollywood continually chases popular trends, from cinematic universes to live-action remakes, and now double features. However, it appears Marvel Studios might steer clear of this last trend with one of its superhero films. Hollywood insider John Campea has reported that Marvel Studios is contemplating shifting the release date of Avengers: Doomsday, hinting that "very non-committable discussions have taken place." This news implies the film might release on the same day as Dune: Part Three, potentially burying the "Dunesday" double feature.
It remains too early to determine the accuracy of this information. This announcement follows the success of Jumanji 3, which moved its release from December 11 to December 25, a week after Dunesday. Campea speculated Marvel could reschedule Doomsday's debut to December 11, allowing it a week to showcase the film on IMAX screens initially reserved for Jumanji 3 before being claimed by Dune: Part Three.
