Even Realities introduces Even Hub to transform G2 smart glasses into a comprehensive app ecosystem.
Even Realities has officially introduced Even Hub, a new app store and developer platform for its G2 smart glasses, representing a significant advancement in wearable technology. The platform is now live and available to all G2 users via the Even Realities app, enabling them to explore and install third-party applications directly onto their smart glasses.
A transition from a single-function device to an open platform
The launch of Even Hub marks a wider shift in how the company is branding its G2 smart glasses. Once primarily operating as a dedicated AI assistant, the G2 is now transforming into a customizable platform where users can personalize their experience through apps created by an expanding community of over 2,000 developers.
At the outset, the platform offers approximately 50 apps and plug-ins that cater to a variety of use cases. These range from practical functionalities like weather forecasting and stock updates to productivity tools such as ebook readers and exercise guides, as well as lifestyle integrations like Spotify controls and vehicle management systems. There are also specialized applications, including breathing exercises for relaxation and chess games that can be managed using the R1 ring accessory.

This advancement underscores a significant change in the industry: wearable devices are transitioning from standalone gadgets to full ecosystems. Just as smartphones evolved alongside app stores, smart glasses are entering a comparable phase of growth driven by platforms.
From the user's perspective, this greatly increases the value of the G2. Rather than relying exclusively on built-in features, users can now enhance functionality based on their preferences—be it reading on the go, checking transportation updates, or controlling connected devices without needing a smartphone.
This decision also aligns with a clear brand strategy
By opening its platform through SDKs and APIs, Even Realities is promoting third-party innovation instead of depending solely on internal development. Developers can create native apps for the G2 and submit them directly to Even Hub, fostering a feedback loop where user demands inform future developments.
For consumers, this implies that the product is likely to improve over time, not just via software updates but through an increasing library of apps. The installation process is designed to be fast and smooth, taking just seconds through a dedicated tab in the companion app.

In terms of significance, this is crucial as it directly influences the practical utility of smart glasses in daily life. Wearables often face limitations in functionality, but an open app ecosystem addresses this issue. It also lessens reliance on smartphones by allowing more interactions directly through the glasses.
Looking to the future, Even Hub is expected to be central to the company’s strategy. The launch follows recent updates such as Conversate 2.0 and Prep Notes, which introduced AI-powered conversation tools, indicating a broader initiative to merge AI and third-party services into a cohesive wearable experience.
If the platform continues to expand, it could establish the G2 not just as a smart accessory, but as an independent computing interface for everyday activities.
